Sill question, but do you own a cat/dog?  I got some cat hair inside the grill and it was rattling just like you describe. Once I pulled apart the driver and removed it they sounded great. I think it got in there by way of how open the grills are.

This is still an ongoing problem...any ideas for a solution?

I tried a ground loop isolator and it seems to have resolved the problem. I still don't quite understand why I wouldn't hear noise on my headphone amp, but would on my desktop monitors. Irrespective I'm glad to have this solved.

I'm currently experiencing what sounds like EMI/RF noise. I'm running a Modi usb DAC to my KRK Rokit monitors using an rca cable. I tried twisting the wires a bit, but it didn't seem to work. Everything is connected to the same power strip, and it seems totally random. Any ideas on a quick fix?

Would an RCA to XLR help in any way. I got an external dac, and I'm still picking up the noise. I tried playing with a twisted pair on the RCA cables, but the distance between the monitors is too great to really have an impact...   Would a ground loop isolator do me any good?

So at the moment I'm not using balanced cables. I'm using a pretty basic 3.5mm to RCA cable to drive my speakers. Though from what you are saying it seems like moving to a USB dac instead of a soundcard would fix this problem. I just wonder if balanced outputs are necessary.

I actually was trying to figure out the answer to this several months ago. I too was looking to upgrade from my A2s...ultimately went with the rokit r6. Definitely think they were a solid upgrade...especially for the price I paid.

What country are you in? I don't see it in USA.

I have the aforementioned monopros and have  always been pretty impressed with the comfort and durability. Detachable cord is a plus and they fold up which is nice. Sound quality is pretty good for ~20 bucks.

I've got the 6s (no sub) and FWIW when I crank it up I can feel the bass in my chest (so can my neighbors). Also I use a dinner table as a computer desk cause these guys are absolutely massive.

I'd say 90-10 split between music and movies/games. Currently I've got a xonar dx...if the DAC on that guy is pretty comparable to the modi than I might just pass on the dedicated DAC.
