Throughout the years, my head-fi setup has dwindled down to just the basics. Currently my portable setup consists of just my cellphone, a samsung 7 edge +. I could splurge out and get a seperate dac / amp setup but that's really not my idea of portable and neither does it fit my lifestyle...

  Man, I know exactly what you mean.  I already own 2 ciems and would be EXTREMELY tempted to buy a k10 if there was a nice discount on it.

  Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they do that on the demo's so they can fit everyone's ear who wants to hear them.

HD800 looks, comfort, sound, but with planar bass.

Off topic but was considering buying a used jh13fp.  For the people reshelling JH freqphase iems.  Doesn't jh audio specifically tune them in such a way that other companies cannot? I just want to make sure before I put out money on them.

  Interesting, so you won't be able to connect a usb 3.0 cable to a dac that isn't designed for usb 3.0.  I guess that totally rules out the usb 3.0 then.    I guess the main question now is the difference between the starlight and the starlight 7?  Anyone have any thoughts on that?
