I'm a newbie- please be gentle with me I'm a videographer and need to shorten the cable to my current fav camcorder audio monitors- Sony MDR-V6. Naiivly, I simply cut a section out , hoping that I could simply perform a soldered splice, Like I've done a zillion times with everything else...
