Sennheiser HD 25-1-II and HD 25 SP, what is the main difference?
The HD 25-SP are a lower quality version of the HD 25-1. Not as efficient (quieter), and higher impedance. The HD 25-1 is worth the extra.- AlanL

HeadRoom Amp: Which one?!
The Stepped Attenuator is good, it has a firm and positive clicking action. Combined with the gain switch it is very easy to set the desired volume with different sources and headphones.- AlanL

Anything similar to Franz Ferdinand?
I agree, the Oranges & Lemons remaster is not an improvement. -
Anyone else like listening to Jonathan Richman?
Yes, The New Teller and Roadrunner in particular. -
Any MiniDisc users here?
I have several Sony MD/HIMD units: MZ-RH1, MZ-NH600, MDS-JE530 and MZR-501. All have the Sony SQ but fall down on the Sonic Stage software. For everyday general use once you have used iTunes + iPod there is just no going back. For recording however MD is still good.- AlanL

Amy Winehouse, Back to Black. Is it supposed to sound like crap?
I think they were trying for a classic 60s sound. Interesting CD but I do not enjoy the production. -
Anyone bought a Xin amp in the UK?
There is a 60% chance of being charged duty. If you are unlucky add about 22% to the combined price of goods and shipping costs.- AlanL

Creek OBH-21SE, really worth??
There never was much love on this forum for the Creek headphone amps. The earlier version of amps, the OBH11s had good sound quality and a solid, if basic build. However the use of cheap components attracted much criticism here at the time and Creeks reputation never recovered. The OBH 21 amps...- AlanL

DRUMMER NEEDING HIGH ISOLATION!!
The Beyer DT 770M is a closed back headphone designed for drummers. It has very good ambient noise attenuation, good audio quality, high sound pressure level, good secure fit, and a single-sided cable with a volume control. However you will need an amp with an ipod to get the best from them.- AlanL

Grateful Dead Fans...your recommendation
Agree, K-701s work well with The Grateful Dead’s early albums.
