… a deliberate policy of creating refugees wherever possible. An Army general … explained the idea to me as follows: “You’ve got to dry up the sea the guerrillas swim in — that’s the peasants — and the best way to do that is blast the hell out of their villages so they’ll come into our refugee...- Philimon

Grado Fan Club!
I think these are very fit dependent like stock L-pads. Depending on your ear size + shape and the positioning of the pads will play a big part on sound (and comfort). I have small ears, i think. Positioning the pads a bit to move driver closer to ears helps increase warmth. I had this same...- Philimon

For vintage RS1 they might install RS2x drivers and cable, then I imagine your RS1 will sound mostly like an RS2x. Good luck! Please share pics of drivers after repair to see what they actually give you as the last couple of us accidentally received lower tier parts replacements... Please tag me...- Philimon

The recline relaxes the highs and ottoman elevates the lows. Color is more psychological effect modifying mood. I find grey blends in with background allowing better immersion into music.- Philimon

Grado Fan Club!
Appreciate the impressions and pics. I also use the same Ikea chair with matching ottoman in my audio rig. I have some nyczaj pads in transit. I didnt realize the Dekoni pads were so large in comparison which to me is worrisome as a Flat pad fan. Hoping nyczaj provide a nice balance. Your...- Philimon

Are you an obsessive gear tweaker?
nice The 325x recommendation was a joke but I highly recommend experimenting with F-pads which are standard on 325x.- Philimon

Are you an obsessive gear tweaker?
Congrats! on 5min. Experimenting is fine but you sounded worried. There is placebo in this subjective hobby. There are companies that prey on naive and OCD audiophiles. The forum is a culprit by design. Anyways, youre maining a 125x? Can I entice you to try a 325x. :) What do you engineer?- Philimon

Are you an obsessive gear tweaker?
So did you take your own advice and stop obsessing? Hobby is for fun. But your profile describes yourself as an “audio engineer”. How deeply is this effecting your life?- Philimon

Custom Headphone Cabinets: interest check
No problem. I live in a small apartment so the cabinet would take up way too much real estate for a single headphone. If the cabinet doubled as a media stand for amp+dac+laptop then maybe could justify. I dont care for the dark staining of the wood. I prefer lighter colors in general. The...- Philimon
