Motorcyclists: do you use IEM's while riding?
I use the ones in my profile for riding. They aren't anything great for sound quality , but they do some descent noise canceling which is what I was looking for. I bought them some time back from a co worker for 20 bucks. I like them because I can still hear things , and hear music. I commute...- beemer

AKG K701, first impressions
I would also like to add, if breaking in your headphone did have such a huge improvement, the manufacturer would include that in the manual, or on a ReadMe pamphlet in the box. I have yet to see that.- beemer

AKG K701, first impressions
You know, I've been thinking about how I am going to write this and its pretty hard to put into words what I am hearing. The best way to describe the difference between the 650 and the 701, is the 650 is a stereo with a sub woofer, and the 701 is just a stereo. From what I've seen , the mids are...- beemer

Closed cans for Grado lovers?
I don't think its possible to achieve the same sound in a closed headphone that you can with an open one. When I was first getting into this I read that in several places, which is why I ended up getting the Sennheiser HD-650's.- beemer

K701 are too big
If you got the money, grab a pair of HD-650's. I have directly compared the 701 with the 650 back and fourth on songs, and the 650 imo sounds much better than the 701.- beemer
