Testing my unit for heat issues. I'm currently streaming Tidal and hardware info shows "quiet-therm-adc" is currently at 42.1 Deg Celsius. I'll observe this for 15min. Fingers crossed!

I did get nervous about that heating issue with all those antsy pantsy posts here (and I don't blame them). However, I noticed that my unit doesn't even get warm at all if I just play locally stored files (wav, dsd, flac). I've been driving my Sundaras at high gain for almost six hours now. But...

Geez, that is concerning! I've only used low-med gain and play mostly local files. Occasionally, I play Tidal for 1-2 hours, and that's it. My unit gets warm but not hot. I do hope your units get replaced soon and mine does not develop that issue over time.

I was really intent on buying this piece of tech, but with the recent developments, it's unable to src bypass. What does @MOONDROP have to say about this? They've been particularly absent and silent. I'll probably just stick to my Hiby R4 for now.

Here's my set up. Tidal at max, mseb analog tuning, and 3 plug-ins. Been playing for hours now and my unit is just warm like a gaming phone that's been played for an hour. Not that warm.

My 1 week old unit never had any instance where it would get hot to the touch and I've loaded all sorts of music into it mostly flac, wav, and dsd. I also have 3 plug ins applied. No issue. What's with all the fuss about a couple units heating up and turning this into a molehill?

By the way. When you say "files downloaded from Tidal" did you mean for offline listening or did you actually convert it to files that can be played independently from Tidal?

Yeah, that is definitely not normal. I've had my unit for about a week now, and I play at least 6-8 hours every day. it just gets a little warm, but never as you described. The unit is too good to pass up. I highly suggest to get a replacement versus a refund.

I suspect that the issues were related to the micro sd getting corrupted. Since all the tracks were good when played, turns out there wasn't anything wrong with them.
