New Silversmith Audio Fidelium Cables... not silver, not palladium...?
A mystery alloy which the designer states are better than his previous exotic cables and are definitely much, much less expensive. Looking for an upgrade to my system, I thought about speaker wires. I already had The World's Best Cables. It says so right on the package! (mogami wire)...- bilboda

Holo Audio Spring R2R DAC
I purchased this for the top shelf of my rack https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0122TWDH4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It provides plenty of air space for the holo and fits my shelf. Right now I have a Matrix Xspdif, an ifi zen stream, and rca and an xlr switch on it. Oh and...- bilboda

Holo Audio Spring R2R DAC
For music, it was difficult to tell them apart straight NOS. Using Roon, I grouped them together and could instantly switch via the usb connections. It was frustrating because I was looking for something I could use to make a decision and it just wasn't apparent. Adding HQ Player, I began to...- bilboda

Holo Audio Spring R2R DAC
been using optical in my Spring3 KTE for movies, Netflix, etc and confirm that latency is not an issue, also the pll is da bomb, audio is just so much better with these varying streams and what I had taken for shoddy audio production turns out to be not so bad after, all- bilboda

I have moved on to another device and am selling this dac. It compared quite well with the Spring3 KTE in nos mode but ultimately because of my use of HQPlayer and the pll in the Holo, the Holo stays. The condition is 9/10. I could see a hair thin line or 2 in the remote only. Built like a...- bilboda

Holo Audio Spring R2R DAC
As far as the usb, I think it provides better performance for non intel based chipsets. I'm on Intel so it doesn't bother me. Can't give a review but I can provide some impressions. I use HQPlayer up sampling. I upsampled pcm with the Sonnet Morpheus and to DSD 256 with the Spring 3 KTE, using...- bilboda

Holo Audio Spring R2R DAC
Having a hard time with the Spring3 KTE, a hard time differentiating it from the the Sonnet Morpheus, that is. I have it set up with Roon, both using USB and a switch, either balanced or single ended depending on the amp. I could only get wasapi with the Morpheus, asio with the Holo. At the end...- bilboda

iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane
Rocking naa DSD256 upsampling. Eventually I will compare it with DSD1024 capable Spring3 KTE via USB or thru Matrix SPDIF2 and HDMI. PC maxes out at DSD256 with advanced filters anyway. First I have to complete my evaluation of the Holo vs Sonnet Morpheus which is proving quite difficult...- bilboda

iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane
I wonder if a DDC, like Matrix SPDIF2, could be inserted between ZS and a dac, offering more connection options? Ya think ifi would ever make one of these gizmo's?- bilboda

An exploration of Chord DAVE, MScaler, Qutest, and Holo May, HQPlayer
Fairly obvious, he's taking you for a ride. Tone and manner are insulting, throwing crap on the wall and hoping something sticks. I hate posts like his, just kills dialogue and subtracts from the entire forum. Someday, years from now, he will look back at this and wonder how he could have been...- bilboda

I didn't have a USB problem when I was using it. I moved on to a i2s input. Maybe you could get a new USB board from Sonnet. It's an easy swap.- bilboda

Sonnet Digital Audio: New kid on the block, well.. not really!
There is measured noise increase at around -50 db input signal, this has nothing to with with the volume control, which is not a digital control, Most of your music will not have much at -50db. While this is considered technically audible, whether you actually hear it is another question. The...- bilboda

Sonnet Digital Audio: New kid on the block, well.. not really!
My first recognition of Morpheus came from speakers, JBL LS3xx? Drop version just bloomed and blossomed in all directions. So much so that I sought to upgrade them and did. Headphones I didn't notice too much because when the speakers woke up, that was all I was listening to. The criticisms I...- bilboda

not here, but elsewhere in the interweb, I'm sure you can guess and 6moons makes references. It seems to fair very well and perhaps comes out on top, wins the form factor for me. This blew up my speakers in a very good way. Soundstage just bloomed in all directions and details were much more...- bilboda
