IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
I'm talking about whether this difference will be made when I buy a totl DAP. If it is again at the level of tuning and minor nuances, then I’m not sure that it’s worth the additional payment of $2000+ for switching from DC Elite/mojo2 to DAP...- makbrown

Ok, if I don't hear significant (<10%) difference between DC Elite, mojo2 and fc6 - it's a problem with my ears or with my transport?- makbrown

IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
Ok, then let's think backwards, are there any portable DAPs that will beat the Elite like night and day? Or is the bar so high that it makes no sense to overpay the conditional $2000 to get a 10% difference?- makbrown

In your experience, which totl DAPs can it be compared to? I'm currently selling Elite to upgrade to one of the flagship DAPs (Shanling M9 OG, HiBy RS8, Cayin N8ii), but wondering if I'll get a real increase at the day-and-night level or not..- makbrown

Shanling M9 Announced - Flagship High-End Portable Player
Hi guys! Tell me please, is M9 still relevant? Now I'm choosing a player, and on my secondary market there are the following options: M9 OG - 1550$ N8ii - 2100 RS8 - 2000 sp2000ss - 1500 sp1000+amp - 1300 N8BB - 1350 and so on.. My main requirement is sound quality, speed and stability of...- makbrown

Luxury & Precision (LP) W4, Successor to Their Popular W1/W2 USB Dongle is Here!
Hello again everyone! I'm still looking for my ideal sound in dongle form factor. I already have L&P W2 OG, Hiby FC6, iBasso DC Elite and Mojo2. Should I expect W4 to beat them all? Or is everything at the level of preferences? Are there any owners of W4 and these dongles, or parts of them?- makbrown

It is n It is not tweak, it’s iBasso official Android app. You can choose only D1/D2. D1 - sharper, D2 - smoother and warmer. But for sure depends on IEMs. And for sure it’s not day’n’night difference. P.S. regarding fc6 - don’t think fc6 not resolving or less staging. Just try. I have...- makbrown

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
I heard this story. But let's be honest, this is a product of EE development, the full production cycle of EE, manual assembly of EE. From AK there is only an inscription on the body. Or maybe I’m wrong and you have your own facilities to repair post-warranty devices?- makbrown

The main thing is that EE does not say that this is a product of AK, not EE. I definitely won’t get anything from AK)- makbrown

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Hi guys. Sad morning. One od Odyssey’s earphone fell from a chair (40 cm) onto the tile - and the shell broke into pieces.. Any ideas what can be done? As far as I understand, CIEM cannot be done because of Weapon X.. Despair 😔- makbrown

Are there any owners of k9 pro ess and Arya in the thread to confirm this theory? That k9 pro ess is not enough for Arya- makbrown

Is the problem with the K9 Pro only in the amplifier part, or in the DAC too? The DAC seems to be good- makbrown

FiiO K9 Pro Hi-Fi DeskDop DAC&Bluetooth&Amplifier,XLR/RCA/4.4/Optical/Coaxial interface
Guys, hi. I'm still confused why my K9 PRO ESS sounds with my Arya V3 Stealth, AKxEE Odyssey, CA Solaris 2020, etc. pretty MEDIOCRE. Connection is only 4.4 balanced. No, I definitely don’t have any technical problems or defects. Just the sound from k9 pro is at the level of pocket dongles for...- makbrown

IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
Maybe I'm missing something, but all of these solutions look like crap. The manufacturer spends millions on R&D to fit so much technology into a tiny dongle for a ready plug-and-play ultra-portable solution. But instead, we are building a collective farm of double X-Y-cables, adapters, and huge...- makbrown

HiBy FC6--R2R dongle DAC reborn
I currently own fc6, mojo2, ibasso dc elite, l&p w2. And if a dongle is not a priority, consider mojo2. It will give enough analog sound. It will also provide a huge supply for high-driving IEM and HP, which no dongle will provide.- makbrown

HiBy FC6--R2R dongle DAC reborn
It is important to remember that mojo2 is - to put it mildly - not a dongle at all. Especially compared to such a baby as fc6. And I wouldn't compare mojo2 to any of the dongles. This is a different type of device.- makbrown

HiBy FC6--R2R dongle DAC reborn
Everything that comes with a max Tidal subscription. from flac 16/44 to 24/192 and MQA. I tried many times to hear the difference, but I only hear between NOS/OS, and not between filters in OS. The same is the zero impact of HDR. And by the way, even before purchasing fc6, when I looked and...- makbrown

Of course, but in this case, in addition to the phone and dongle, you carry 2 additional devices - x10t transport and power bank. And the whole bunch turns from portable to transportable :)- makbrown

I think my 14 pro vs your 13 pro it’s the same usb units and should work identical. BTW, battery consumption near 15% hour. Perhaps both cable heating and consumption are the result of my low-impedance IEMs (2.1 Ohm). Less Ohms - more Ampers with the same Volts.. Attenuator position - 4-5...- makbrown

IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
I noticed that with the iPhone, the included cable at the point where it exits the phone becomes very hot. This has never happened to any of my dongles before. I don't have a thermal imager or an accurate thermometer handy, but it feels uncomfortably hot. I'll try Elite with other cables I have...- makbrown
