NEW HiBy R4
This is what I did, ended up cancelling my R4 and went for a R6 pro II from classifieds. Costed me double what the R4 would cost but I can imagine it being at least 1.5 times as good and as a result worth the price to me.- Thieme

The PENON official thread
Dsnuts posted the Voltage in the Mid-fi thread so I assume the special offer is at least below a kilobuck. But it is still going to be too expensive for me :( I do hope I can try some nice IEMs with ESTs soon. For now I am first waiting for my SLT6 and second hand Hiby R6 pro II. Let my finances...- Thieme

Saw you and @ToneDeafMonk rave about it a few times but always dismissed it at being too expensive. Then I saw that in the sale now it only costs 348€, it seems too good of a steal to let go, especially because I felt like having an all BA IEM in my collection but didn't feel super attracted to...- Thieme

Comment by 'Thieme' on listing 'Hiby R6 Pro II'
Hello, If not too much effort, could you check what the shipping costs would be to The Netherlands? Also when paying through PayPal G&S are the fees on me or on you? Thanks!- Thieme

It is getting some buzz yeah but personally I am not sure if they deserve it? I don't own any IEMs in the same price bracket but them needing other nozzles to sound better (and create a better fit for a lot of people) is kind of bad? It does sound good but isn't like wow? It seemed to be a bit...- Thieme

Yeah that is the one, IvipQ-143. Strange the link doesn't work? It works for me even when I open it in a incognito window. (made it so it was not a referral link which was annoying to do on mobile during my lunchbreak)- Thieme

A bit of a cross-post from the discovery thread I made earlier today. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the-discovery-thread.586909/page-6707#post-18109296 IvipQ has a pretty good deal right now on a cable that is half frozen 7n copper and half liquid nitrogen single crystal silver...- Thieme

The discovery thread!
I was writing with the IvipQ store on AliExpress about a custom cable and they pointed me to the fact they are running a promotion on two interesting cables. They are already priced down in the sale but there is a special coupon that doesn't show on the page. First cable is a 8 core with 4...- Thieme

Anyone interested in an amateur 10-way cheap chi-fi IEM shootout/review?
I never heard the F1 Pro but I am a fan of the Artti T10 most of the time just costing $55 it is competitive Screenshotted from Akros his video Otherwise I am not that interested in the posted IEMs you will review but that shouldn't be a reason to stop you. Get some experience reviewing them...- Thieme

NEW HiBy R4
Thank you, that is good to know. Maybe it is a bit unfair to ask about this before I even receive the unit but I will keep it in mind and give it a proper try in standard configuration <3- Thieme

Need recommend DAC/AMP 40-70$
It is funny how I already found my btr3k lacking with the PR3 when it has like double the power of the Apple dongle? It really makes me wonder if you ever heard the PR3 on a proper dac that puts out at least a 100mW? Or is my case such a edge case? Like it really makes me curious to know if...- Thieme

Best portable DAC $100-$150?
I hope someone else can answer that, it is not my video and I don't have either of those dongles. Not exactly sure where the price difference lies. When just talking about output power they seem close. Although Aune only lists the output power at 300ohm- Thieme

NEW HiBy R4
Seeing as I ordered a R4 earlier today, I thought I would read up on this thread and what other people have to say, 22 pages was quite a lot! Have there been people who played around with some plugins and settings to see if they could get more soundstage? I think I remember reading about it but...- Thieme

Do I need a DAP?
I wanted to write a bit more about dongles in my earlier post but realized I was running out of time and had to get my ass to work. Again we can't really know your preferences and look in your wallet but another option for a dongle in the same form factor as you have would be the Fiio ka17 it...- Thieme

Do I need a DAP?
I think it is mainly a thing of preference, you could go for a larger more capable dongle but personally I find those to be unwieldy always hooked up to the phone. A DAP would a solution but at the same time it would be yet another device taking up space in your pocket and most of the DAPs are...- Thieme

Is it known how much output impedance it has? Even if I already have a Shanling m3 Ultra somehow I really want to try this thing. I see even the pre-orders have sold out for now tho so maybe that is a good thing for my wallet...- Thieme

The discovery thread!
Well not sure what kind of phone you use but most of them aren't exactly known for having good DAC's/output power either. It really is a shame that KZ doesn't list any specs on the AZ20 but I just wanted to warn you to be careful with planars and them being powerhungry. Bass is also more about...- Thieme

The discovery thread!
I would be very hesitant to use planar IEMs on a bluetooth adapter like the AZ20 especially because they don't seem to have a amp chip on them? and KZ doesn't list any watts for what it puts out. I noticed that my PR3 and Artti T10 didn't get enough juice on the Fiio btr3k and that gives out...- Thieme

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
It costs $30 so technically over budget but the Fiio Ka11 is supposedly very good for the money. The Jcally JM6 Pro works but would still be a little lacking probably difficult to say by what % tho. I also don't own a PR2 myself.- Thieme
