    STAX SR-Ω (SR-Omega) '' The Legendary OMEGA ''

Very interesting observations...thanks. I was listening to some dummy head binaural choral music, and orchestral music that a friend recorded recently. i tend to agree with your perceptions...for me the Omega/SRM-T1 combo offer a super detailed, clean midrange, but are somewhat thin in the base...

Yes, I can imagine that matched tubes can be difficult to find. After nearly 30 years of use, I recently looked into replacement of the tubes in my SRM T-1, and discovered that the existing tubes that came with the unit still out performed anything I could find/test.

Thanks to you both for your excellent analyses. It sounds like the BHSE is the amp I should invest in. Is there any risk of overdriving the vintage Omegas with a higher electrostatic load delivered from the newer amps?

Can anyone opine on the merits of the Blue Hawaii ES? I am curious to know more about its comparative strengths, such as base response, hum/hiss issues, sibilance, etc. I have the original SRM T-1's and find them to be super hum/hiss free, but a bit light on the bass and a bit tizzy at the high...

My Omega 1's(0344), bought in 1995, still have the original ear pads and are in perfect shape. Admittedly, my use has been intermittent, but keeping them in the box when not in use has spared them any deterioration.

Thanks....i do love my Omegas, after 28 years of ownership with no problems...cross my fingers here. I am looking to explore another amp to add to the SRM T-1...perhaps Blue Hawai, although i would like to try the new Stax flagship amp, the T-8000

Thanks, I was looking at the bhse this evening along with a video testimonial. I also sent along an email to t2/Aeras group, hoping to learn more. I really look forward to listening to them and compare if possible. I am listening to the SRM T-1 through the Omega 1's and I have a hard time...

    STAX SR-Ω (SR-Omega) '' The Legendary OMEGA ''

Hi Chefguru: Thanks for all of these references...this is great and just what I need. I am a lifetime audio/headphone fanatic, and look forward to doing my due diligence before investing. I am wondering whether it would be worth sending my vintage SRM T-1 to Mjolnir for his legacy updates? It...

    STAX SR-Ω (SR-Omega) '' The Legendary OMEGA ''

Thanks for the adice...I have been a Stax owner for 40 years, and have had most of the various models up to the Omega 1's, which I bought in 1994 with the SRM-T1. As a longtime Stax patriot i had hoped the new 8000 would be an improvement. It now appears I should look at the non-Stax amps for...

Has anyone auditioned the new 8000 amp with their Omegas? I have been using an SR T-1 amp for 30 years, and wonder whether the upgrade is worth it.
