FIGHT THE BEATS HYPE (Ultrasone HFI-580/HFI 580 appreciation thread)
WOW I think I found my new favorite headphone. The bass is perfect for me, it has awesome treble and the mids aren't too recessed. I can't believe these only cost $119.- Megalomaniac

FIGHT THE BEATS HYPE (Ultrasone HFI-580/HFI 580 appreciation thread)
Just ordered them from Amazon for $119 + shipping. I wanted to try Ultrasone a long time ago but bought custom iems instead, now I'm buying full sized again. I've never really had a decent pair of headphones for bassy genres, I've always used grados for everything. :P- Megalomaniac

SMALL amp that beats FiiO E06
Xin Feng made a pretty small one that I could never get a hold of, RSA makes a pretty small one. They are out there, I'm wondering if there are things in the 150 range with a similar size and better SQ.- Megalomaniac

SMALL amp that beats FiiO E06
I have an E06 and I'm looking to buy a small amp that can surpass it in the $150 dollar range. I'm looking for a fairly neutral amp but I can tolerate something that has a bit edgier highs. My main complaint is the hiss with the FiiO at higher volumes. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I...- Megalomaniac

Is anyone here a teenager that once believed that Beats and Bose were the best headphones on earth?
I never thought beats, bose or skullcandy was any good. Every time I listened to them at a demo stand I felt they were over priced for what you were getting.- Megalomaniac

Do you make fun of other peoples gear?
Most of the time I do. It doesn't help if you tell them there are better things out there, they don't listen and are happy with whatever crap they have jammed in their ear.- Megalomaniac

Grado/Alessandro - Yay or Nay?
They hold up pretty good. I gave my 12 year old brother a pair of SR60i's for his birthday last year. They still look and sound like new.- Megalomaniac

1964 Ears
Sorry for the wait guys! The silver dragon cable seems to reduce the bass and increase the treble slightly on the ipod touch 2g. It's more netural compared to the hm-601 and I didn't notice that before. Still want to have some more time before I post detailed information. Quote: I just...- Megalomaniac

$500 - new IEM's to last "forever"
Sounds like my 1964 ears quads except these are not completely natural. It has a little bass boost but that would make it "seductive" to some but these still sound close to natural. 1964 ears triple driver is in your price range with impressions and they are more toward natural. I would...- Megalomaniac

1964 Ears
The HM-601 and quads both have smoothed treble and with the stock cable I thought it sounded horrible. The silver dragon cable did a little to fix it and it's tolerable now but I would rather listen to my ipod touch 2g. Quote:- Megalomaniac

1964 Ears
Quote: I'm listening to a bunch of songs I know by heart with the stock and silver to see what the differences are. So far with the stock cable I can't listen to them through the HM-601 but with the silver dragon it's tolerable. I'll be able to say more when I have listened longer.- Megalomaniac

1964 Ears
Eh came back wayyy earlier than expected due to family issues. Arrived at my house on Monday and have been sitting here since. I can't really tell if I have a good fit or not, the only experience I've had with iems before these were UE superfi 3 but they sound damn good so I guess the fit is...- Megalomaniac

1964 Ears
Disappointed by no tweaking...hope my silver dragon cable helps with the highs. If I wear to pick details over shimmering highs I would go with details but I would want both..Like eating my cake and having it to. Pretty much what I get with my grados- Megalomaniac

Leckerton Audio Slimline UHA-4
Went ahead and put my order in for one. Ever since the ALO RX came out I wanted something in that size but it was too expensive for what I would be using it for. Arrow? Too expensive. TTVJ? Too expensive? Lekerton audio? Just right- Megalomaniac

Buying headphones: refurbished or used?
Refurbished is used/damaged and made new by the manufacturer by replacing major parts. Refurbished items may have slight cosmetic damage though. Used is well...used. You can save some pretty good money by going refurb and it will be like a new product.- Megalomaniac

Put new cables on silicone customs
Try contacting the people you purchased them from. It's very likely you will mess them up since it's pretty hard to put silicone back together once you tear into them.- Megalomaniac
