I've just been using my Jot 2 but I am interested in what dacs you guys are using to feed your amps.

Been eyeing those pads. Which ones you get?

There's a few on YouTube. I can't remember what the common consensus was, but I remember spending thought on it and purchasing Jot. That being said I also needed a dac and the Jot happen to (potentially) have one built in so recognize that bias.

Have experience with both and can back everything said here. Except I really don't mind the weight but that's personal.

Hey everyone I've been thinking about getting the Faaeal Snow lotus 1.0 and while they are cheap if there is another better option around the price of about 20usd I'd rather just get that. I listen to mostly music derived from Veggie Tales if that matters but anyhow thanks in advance.

Flatheads and IEMs are something I've wanted to try for a while now but the mass amount of them is very overwhelming to say the least lol. I believe music should be an experience and the way an earpiece, headphone, etc presents sound is just as important as tuning so with that in consideration...

I'm not sure any headphone is going to completely remove that inside head feeling like an even just decent pair of studio monitors will. Especially if forward staging is what you want to improve.

How are they "suspiciously" similar? I get the target and the rig are potentially different but the Horizon doesn't even have the signature mid scoop that all Hifiman headphones have and furthermore, the entirety of over ear Hifi headphones tuned to Harman will be similar. I get why, considering...

The Edition XS and Avantone planar will have very different presentations. The Edition XS will come off thinner but with more raw information due to the upper mid scoop and very present treble. The Planar on the other hand will sound thicker and warmer. I think both are good headphones you just...

Does the gain and os and nos effected the line out or is it completely static? For 300 and some hefty change this is a very competitively priced R2R dac without even considering the amp.

Ordered the SN v2s earlier today. Gunna power em out of the xlr output on my jot 2. They defiently will be the heaviest can I've used in a while but should be alright.

One last question. How do these compare technically. If my understanding is correct, they have a similar planar driver but different tuning so things like detail should be similar but how does soundstage and imaging compare?

How are the starry nights? In the market for some closedbacks... that being said If the moonlights are that much better I can cope and go open.

So... would it be justifiable to label these as a planar hd650ish Frankenstein? I'm wondering because as I really enjoy the sound of the hd650 I'd love to find a similarly sounding, particularly in the vocal department, headphone but with better technicalities.

I'm also in a similar boat wondering which headphones you guys consider upgrades. My biggest gripe with these headphones is their very intimate soundstage. (at least compared to some cheaper hifimans I have)

If I'm not mistaken those are the Sash Tres planars in your pfp? Do you think that purchasing those and the closed/semi open back cups would be a better decision.

I think I may purchase a pair of the Mahogany used. Do these still compete in damn near 2024 or am I am I better off getting some other closed back. I would go with the 6.35mm to single 3.5mm as you wouldn't need to rewire the planar. For option 2 you would need to rewire the headphones. You could maybe do option 2 without rewiring but you'd need each 3.5mm have a L and R. You can also email someone at Avantone, Seth I believe, and they...
