No it's nowhere close to the EA1000 when it comes to bass quality and technical aspects. So no remorse!- hitmaker

The discovery thread!
Been testing the EA500LM for the past couple of weeks. AND SPOILER ALERT - It is NOT "technically" better than the EA1000. But it's closer to the EA1000 than the EA500. It's smoother than both. Soundstage, imaging, separation, everything is better on the EA1000. For low to medium volume...- hitmaker

Review by 'hitmaker' on item 'Tanchjim One'
I have heard praises about Tanchjim IEMs in the community and they have garnered a sizable number of dedicated followers. But the ONE is the first Tanchjim IEM for me. All thanks to @gadgetgod and ForHiFi, I am reviewing both the DSP and the 3.5mm variants of the Tanchjim ONE It can be found...- hitmaker

Aful Performer 8 - The confident mid ranger I got to try this $370 Performer 8 hybrid IEM thanks to the review tour arranged by Aful and @gadgetgod in India It comes with a 1DD+7BA drivers config and is tuned for a balanced mid-centric tonality. Wow, so now there's even more variance! So now you will also have to check the nozzle filter too. KZ is starting a IEM lottery scheme - who catches the rarest PR2!- hitmaker

wait, so both of these are PR2 V2? So they changed the mesh again? A harder mesh will help tame the treble a little more but will lose some bass. At least that's what I have experienced.- hitmaker

You have iems like M9 and maybe other midfi ones. Where do you place the PR2 in terms of details, soundstage and resolution compared to those? Is it very close or the differences jump at you?- hitmaker

Sometimes you just gotta do something out of your norm. Have a look at this Cursed EQ - It almost feels like my arms are shaking when the bass hits. The best part? There's no loss of bass quality, or control. It's still fast and accurate. These planars are best drivers for such crazy EQs- hitmaker

The zobel network used in the ZVX was sensitive to impedance changes. So maybe similar circuit is used here. Is it possible to physically mod a resistor inside the shell to increase the impedance internally?- hitmaker

yes, no original nozzle mesh, they almost broke down. The balancing act is the toughest one. I almost got it right once but then I removed it to try a different density foam. One thing to note - the Red memory foam needs to be close to the driver opening. Otherwise it does not affect the high...- hitmaker

I Used the normal KZ foam tips, I think i mis-marked the size - it was 5mmx5mm. The foam sheet i used was 5mm thick. I just try to cut cubes from the corner. The foam was thinner than the nozzle so it slipped in easily and I tried to place it by eyeballing it. I carefully made sure not to...- hitmaker

When the KZ guy is adamant on using the stock foam tips then I guess measuring with stock will make for a better proof that they done f++ed up. Let me share what I did with my PR1 to reduce the treble and increase the lower mid range - I cut small pieces of a memory foam eartip and inserted...- hitmaker

Possible for you to measure the PR2 V2 with the stock cable and use the included silicone tips and foam tips? Even with the foam tips, it's spicy- hitmaker

So HBB is in talk with KZ and he wants to retest the PR2 and he has own set of parameters of testing but KZ is insisting on only using the foam tips. Which is obviously needed to tame the peak, or at least make the peak less noticeable. But even with foam tips, the new batch has more treble in...- hitmaker

Go this graph from the KZ guy while talking to him. He tried to convince me this is two different batches but I think that's just a single iem with left and right channels. Their own official graph shows different level of treble and measurements. There should be 10dB of difference between the...- hitmaker

I don't have a coupler but testing by the ear, I find the left side unit to be approx. 4dB louder than the right at around 11KHz And these graphs are with foam, with silicone. the difference is much much higher.- hitmaker

I wonder if HBB is in this forum? Wouldn't mind for his opinions on this situation. Because if you are collaborating and earning profits from the project then you should be held liable for this unwanted change. Even more interesting is that when the PR2 was first showcased on HBB's video, it...- hitmaker
