Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread

Isnt really the only advantage of balanced output more power delivery to each driver? As the Biodyna drivers have really low impedance and are easy to drive, where is this significant improvement exactly?

Headphone & Amp Impedance Questions? Find the answers here!

On a different note, I would like a scientific or at least objective opinion on the topic of driver degradation. Specifically, the Fostex Biodyna driver. As it´s made from organic material, I imagine that it has a limited lifetime. Being used in the studio conditions, zero travelling, in quite...

Headphone & Amp Impedance Questions? Find the answers here!

Wow, did not expect such extensive explanation, thank you all! So, having my mind at peace now, knowing that the RME is everything that I need & that there is no need for spending money on tube amps, I cannot wait for the cans to arrive  In the meantime, I should probably learn how...

Headphone & Amp Impedance Questions? Find the answers here!

Guys, please, help me with this as I feel that I am not able to comprehend this topic. I somehow dont get why headphones with lower impedance drivers can be harder to "drive/pair/synergy" with the whole chain, than the higher impedance ones. Specifically, I am interested in my situation -...

    Fostex TH909 Announcement

    Fostex TH909 Announcement

So guys, I just had the opportunity to test out borrowed Sennheiser HD660S2, Dan Clark Aeon2 Open & Audeze LCD-X (2019). All listened through my RME ADI-2 DAC FS. I dare to say that none of these impressed me by any means. Audeze: Sterile, acoustic guitar sounds muffled & the sparky details...

    Fostex TH909 Announcement

Hello guys, I am thinking about upgrading my headphones from DT880 250Ohm to something more serious. I use RME ADI-2 DAC FS without additional amp. Struggling between picking up TH900 Anniversary (Purple) vs. TH909. Never heard any of them, but from studying this forum, they seem nice. I have...

Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread

I have just had a chance to listen to DT1990 Pro for a few hours. Clearly better bass, more punchy drums, nice vocals, but the treble spike is indeed painful. How itense is TH900 treble compared to DT1990, if anyone had the chance to compare?

Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread

Hello guys, My first post here. About ten years ago I bought Beyerdynamic DT880 Edition, 250 Ohm, ran them through Asus Xonar Essence and a Technics SU-V8 for more volume. Sounded nice but nothing to write home about. Last few years those cans were left unused in a case, mainly because I...
