Best thing to do is get a refund and purchase a product fit for purpose. B&W customer support is very poor. I suspect the longer people have them the more will fail.

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

Pretty much what I did in the end, after 3 failures I picked up a set of Meze 109 pros at a steal and a decent dongle DAC. and actually saved a couple of hundred pounds. My PX8's were only ever used around the house so it was no big deal to go back to portable/wired. Cant say I miss the...

My point exactly, the customer service is lacking. Also only had a two year warranty. My first pair lasted over 12 months the second & third pair lasted a few weeks each before the first signs were visible.

It seems you are one of the fortunate ones, hope it stays that way. three from three for me same problem on all three. Obviously you are unlikely to post if you have no issues. Its a problem, it happens. That's not the real issue its the fact that its hardly been addressed or acknowledged by...

Like I said we will have to agree to disagree as I don't agree with you. You are simply not receiving the premium product you paid for and it is certainly not achieving a reasonable "shelf life" when used in the correct manner. I don't think "health risk" comes into the equation as a product of...

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

Appreciate your point of view, but we will have to agree to disagree. I actually work in quality control in a large commercial construction company and for this to be going on for so long is totally unacceptable. In any other industry models would be amended or recalled. we can argue about exact...

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

Apologies, i meant to say nearly 2 years. Point stands though it is a considerable time lapse to correct a production issue and a relatively simple one at that. B & W response is pretty negligable.

They have had nearly 3 years to fix the production issue, not sure why people are continuing to accept this.

I don't think a bit of stitching on a £6/700 premium product would put much of a dent in the profit margin.

I have some experience of working with vulcanized rubber and it is pretty high strength generally, this also doesn't look like that to me. I had similar issues to the picture attached, I would say its an adhesive/hot glue joint but not entirely sure. Thing is my two pairs never left the sitting...

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

its a tuck and adhesive process, a lack of adhesive is a QA issue that is not being addressed and therefore is a shoddy process. However the bigger issue is the fact that it continues over a two year period.

I replaced my first pair but unfortunately just got more of the same, hence for now a change of direction and i will see what the future brings.

It really is such a shame, great BT headphones spoiled by inferior materials and a bit of shoddy workmanship. I returned two pairs for the leather issues and have now moved on. Having spoken to B&W customer services there is not yet a replacement in the pipeline but one can only imagine the PX8...

I think you should send your CV into Bowers & Wilkins, could be there new "Glue Technician" obviously the one they have isn't much cop  Good luck with the longevity of the fix hopefully you have it sorted and it lasts. Its a real shame that people have to go to these lengths as I think...

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

Trouble is my friend whilst people keep "riding with it" you are giving Bowers reason to turn a blind eye and not address it. I like the product but I'm not paying top dollar for a defect item. It will only get worse with time and its a manufacturing corner cut, simple as that. If you purchased...

I get what you are trying to do here, but accidently break one of the plastic tabs and warranty null and void. Is this what it has come to now DIY fixes for a premium products manufacturing fault. I have worked managing in a manufacturing environment for years (Large scale industrial commercial)...

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

Well i don't buy the climate reasoning, I'm in the UK its pretty cool here all the time. Lots of people have had success with the spudger tool however should we really be pushing leather back in and adding glue to a premium product? Its ridiculous really B&W should just get the manufacture issue...

This is my problem, I had my second pair with the headphone issue. Though i loved the product I'm not prepared to continuously go through the replacement procedure. I don't think any of us would treat our gear poorly, neither of my pairs left the sitting room but still the headband issue...

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

Hi Everyone, I have had two pairs of PX8 to date with the headband issues. I love the headphones but not the headband issue, I am looking to try a third pair and think i am going to select the Burgundy color. My thinking is that it guarantees a later production model and hopefully resolves...
