ESI Juli@ compared with EMU 1212M

I have finally installed an ESI Juli@ into my machine and wow, my experience of it is much better than the EMU 1212m. It took 2mins to switch to the professional ends and insert and then I downloaded the Vista drivers (which are under 1MB) and installed them, restarted and it worked instantly. I...

ESI Juli@ compared with EMU 1212M

I have found an impressive review of the ESI Juli@ including a video of the installation and a quick view of the software http://www.dancetech.com/aa_dt_new/h...?threadid=3904

What OS do you run: XP, Vista, Linux, Mac?

OS X 10.4.10, Windows Vista x86 Ultimate (But considering downgrading to XP Pro x86 again unless ESI's EWDM drivers turn out to be a sucess)

ESI Juli@ - White and Black..?

I wouldn't look into it so deep. It's a difference in colour!!! Sometimes when they are produced I'm guessing black components are more readily available. If there was a difference you would probably see a Juli@ v1 and a Juli@ v2 (which don't exist obviously)

ESI Juli@ compared with EMU 1212M

Yeah, I had a 1212m for a day then took it back. They use great DAC's BUT!!! the drivers are terrible, latency is poor compared to the Juli@ and the drivers tend to cause latency problems. As yeeyy said "AC3/DTS Pass Thru", this means that you can achieve digital multichannel out for surround...

    Help please...ESI Juli@

You can't plug a bass guitar straight into the soundcard as it doesn't have a built in preamp to accommodate it. You could use a Mic Preamp from a mixer and output the signal from the mixer to the inputs on the Juli@. You should be able to get a mixer for less than £50/$100. Personally I'd...

    PCI-E soundcards

There is a PCIe card available. Unfortunately it comes at a price. MOTU's new 424 PCIe card which is designed to drive their HD192 external interfaces. Will cost Arround £1400 though.

    M-Audio Audiophile 192 vs. ESI Juli@

Well my M Audio experience isn't particularly representative of all of M-Audio's products but the firewire series has caused nothing but grief. A firewire solo was the only thing to crash both my PC and my Mac and constantly caused digital errors to be captured during recording no matter what...

    Another potentially interesting ESI card...

Please can someone submit some proof to prove that MAYA44's aren't as good as Juli@'s cos I'm torn atm. I'm either gonna get one or the other.

    Juli@ short review

I have found a great review on this card. Check out: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan0...s/esijulia.htm Slightly more jitter but lower latency than the E-MU 1212m PC and Mac Compatible 3.5v and 5v support +4dBu Professional jacks or -10dBu Consumer RCA ADC capable of 114dB DAC...

    Juli@ Connectors question

TRS jacks are better quality and tend to allow a slightly higher throughput of around 6db on this card from what I've heard

    M-Audio Audiophile 192 vs. ESI Juli@

Personally I would choose ESI over M-Audio as I have had bad experiences with poorly made drivers on both PC and Mac for M-Audio soundcards and also because I know that ESI easily produces quality of the same stardard as M-Audio cards. I also prefer the fact that ESI cards don't have a horrible...
