Both the starry night and the moonlight sound wonderful on my ta-22 or my xduo xa10 no additional hardware needed. Just my 2 cents.

Let's see I tested them on a cayin iha6, xduo xa10, ta-22, McIntosh, felks audio, and about 7 other amps/ dacs made zero difference just my 2 cents the e3 are just designed to be clinical

I have to agree with others that the dca e3 is very boring and clinical no emotion to the sound anywhere. No bass less dynamic than the liric etc...

I still have my lirics and I have yet to find a better closed back my preference might add some biases but for me the liric is cream of the crop for closed back.... I hope if they do release a version 2 they don't change the sound signature at all.

It's a bit fidgety sometimes just have to adjust it a little try tilting it forward or back and moving the cup up or down usually have no problem myself

The soundstage is slightly better on the moonlight being open back and all. Detail retrieval is also slightly better on the moonlight but very similar. The main difference to me at least is the starry night is much more fun and energetic/ dynamic of course that's just my take.

My preference is the starry night v2 over the moonlight not saying the moonlight is bad it's just way more relaxed and more neutral. "Not as warm " as the starry night. Both compliment each other Imo.
