No no no don't look at this... better to go to ASR and buy the latest, best measuring product that will self destruct in 2 months...

    Sony IER-M9 impressions thread

I will elaborate further. The EX800ST has two main issues: one can be fixed with EQ and for the other one you'll have to live with it. If you see some graphs around you'll notice this massive peak around 5.4kHz, this is not only very noticeable when you use a tone generator, but also when you...

    Sony IER-M9 impressions thread

I got the EX800ST and it’s definitely a pass if you don’t want to EQ. I thought it would be at least passable without it but it turns out it’s really really bad.

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread

I stopped buying IEMs with resin(-like) shells for that reason. I want special and beautiful stuff. The Final E5000 with its simple design still looks gorgeous in comparison to most of the uninspired cookie cutter stuff that is produced today.

    Sony IER-M9 impressions thread

Yes, it has similar tonality. I wouldn't really say it's a complimentary set as they're not in the same league but it's a lot of fun. I still keep it in rotation even though I have stuff like M9 and Z1R which definitely outclass it. I recommend the Radius Deep Mount tips for it. Final E5000 is...

This is also the product of simple market segmentation. The bottom distribution in terms of price will tend to have safe inoffensive tunings, and the totls might lean on the wonkiness side because only enthusiasts wanting to have something special, different, tailored, younameit, are the ones...

Kilobuck isn't value, but $399 for this is? IER-Z1R is seriously a steal considering how crap the manufacturing of pretty much everything out there is.

I bought those sleeves and hate them all. Particularly with the Z1R it ruins the fit for me. Embrace the "patina" :D Funny how my M7 is older than my M9, and the former still looks like new.

Nope, sorry. Still on my bucket list of things to do.

I know someone that has those filters after purchasing the Make4 and sadly the filters won't fit the M9.

It is very clear to me that the U12t is very busy above 15kHz and your impressions can be day and night depending of how far your hearing extends to.

Compared to my Walkman, the M15i sounds like dynamite and broken glass. It goes boom and occasionally broken shards of glass cut you.

Questyle products look so amazing it’s really hard to resist the urge to press that checkout button. Too bad they forgot the goal is to play music and not to gauge the technical capabilities of your transducers :)

If you have a 2pin IEM, just reverse its polarity by inverting the cable and it will have a very noticeable change in the bass, yet it will graph the same. Objectivists btfo’d.

U12t has to be the most insane IEM in the business, in the sense that nobody seems to agree on how it actually sounds like.

I’ve been waiting for FiiO to release a successor to the FA9 for a long time, and I read your review and your comparison with IER-M9. But I have a very concrete question: how do the drums sound like here? I’m asking because that 5kHz focus looks a bit scary, I’ve listened to some IEMs like that...

There are two kinds of audio companies. Those that care what people like Crinacle say, and those that don’t or don’t even know they exist.

100% my taste as well. Usually the first thing I do with any new IEM is to fire up None So Vile by Cryptopsy because I've listened to that thing a thousand times, and then Mgła and Ulcerate to hear that wonderful cymbal work. If it gets me this realistic energetic, visceral cymbal strikes with...

Yes, hearing as in "listening to music" rather than "hearing people talking about DACs and Amps" :D (which I used to laugh at). I left the objectivist camp a long time ago.

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

I have heard other full BA sets and besides the Sony IER-M9, nothing quite slams like the Etymotics. Moondrop S8 and Audiosense DT-200 for example sounded rather tame and dead compared to even ER3SE when it came to rendering percussion hits. I guess deep insertion is almost like cheating when...
