The way you conclude the review sounded like the sr2/sr3 are going to be your end game headphones for quite some time..... Reading this particular review reminds me of the process i took when i got my first "serious" headphone, the sennheiser hd558 knowing nothing about audiophile but just want...

just really curious how this will fare against the recent fiio ft3.....one thing for sure is that the pad changing mechanism for ft3 is much easier compared to the sr3 nice to see more players step up with bundled differently tuned pads though

Oooo.....this says a lot about the level of achievement of the sr3.....coming from one of the best review contributors in this forum... But genuinely, this needs to burn in for a better representation of this headset. I didn't realise this until i put on my good old hd558 again after putting it...

agreed, i tried to adjust and retighten the stoppers, quite a pain in the ass.....almost 20 minutes of fumbling...thankfully, i have an ifixit kit clone that have the appropriate driver size. Hopefully, their next iteration/generation will have a more user friendly and much simpler...

My unit finally arrived, putting on it now....playing some tracks from Joe Satriani.... Kind of hard for me to put to words like how many of the experienced folks here can, and am genuinely very new to all headfi related things and sonic expression of all things audio. And coming from something...

Did you happen to measure the diameter of the drivers when you dismantled the unit?

Great to know that you are satisfied with this set of headphone. We are running it identical then  Judging by your username, presumably, you're the one that left the 5 star comment on bloomaudio?

    iBasso SR3 — 150Ω version of the SR2

After reading through the marketing materials of sr3 in their china webpage, other than the aforementioned increase in impedance, their cables seems to hold a special attention compared to the sr2. SR3's stock cables are 6N single crystal copper, compared to the silver plated copper of the sr2...

i see......i too possibly figured i might get myself a used set of hd660s2 a year or 2 down the road just for the sake curiosity (since my first and only serious headphone was a hd558), since both are at exactly loggerhead in msrp pricing. anyway, i ordered a set of sr3 recently, likely will...
