For me APT-X Adaptive vs USB-C to USB-C there is very little if any difference. AAC vs USB-C to USB-C the cable is slightly better 3.5mm cable is easily the worst option.

To me it doesn't matter sonically but I like to understand the technology.

But it's not just one phone. Sony, LG, Creative, Sennheiser etc etc all connect with 96khz selected although some of the Dongles are a bit clitchy. According to qualcomm you won't get the connection if the headphones are not compatible? I'm not doubting the PX8 has a 24/48 dac but is it...

For APTX Adaptive there's two selections for connection speed 48khz or 96khz. If the headphones are not capable of 96khz you don't get the option.

No I'm not sure it is. Qualcomm say the device and headphone must be capable of 24/96 for you to be able to select the option. Numerous devices from different manufacturers (Phones and Dongles) are connecting with the PX8 at APTX Adaptive 24/96. Wired we know the PX8 limit is 24/48. So is...

If the PX8 is only capable of 24/48 why do they connect to various devices at 24/96?

I've not had a single issue with the PX8's on APTX Adaptive as long as my phone is on my person or at the side of me. The seem more stable than my Sony's on LDAC.

With a good connection I don't hear any difference between HD and Adaptive but when watching movies I've had lipsync issues with HD that I don't get with Adaptive. Obviously the difference in Latency.

I have a cheap stand at home and office to hang them on. I wasn't too concerned about scratches but as I have Tan I wanted to keep them as clean as possible.

Outside of the sound downgrade, comfort and micro usb I also don't use my P7W outside of the house as they are too big and bulky and most importantly no ANC for public transport and office. I keep my P7W as they are like new, sound good wired on a decent DAC, can be used passive with a flat...

I agree the P7W is still a good headphone, I still enjoy mine occasionally but only wired. I find it really poor now over bluetooth with it's old codecs masking a lot of detail. For bluetooth use the PX8 is a step up for my listening. And that's before we talk about comfort. The P5's I did...

I suppose if they work well enough, mixed reviews on here. But doesn't that somewhat take away from the portability of a bluetooth mobile phone and bluetooth headphones?

Pay for a lossless hi-res streaming service on a device that supports it with suitable hi-res Bluetooth codec options is the Ultimate answer. But if you are tied into the apple ecosystem then Apple lossless is available but you're stuck with a lossy AAC Bluetooth codec. That's good enough for...

For my Xperia list is £1299. At time of purchase Sony and most retailers had an offer on for £1150 EE (UK Carrier) were £950 and a free vlogging setup and monitor which I will never use. Interest free plan over 24 or 36 months but you can pay that up at anytime if you wish. That's when bought...

But then I don't get the APTX connection report. I'll have to check what the Amazon App says with the USB but as I never use it I wasn't really interested.

I'm not sure where you are but there's absolutely no point doing that in the UK. Handset deals are more attractive with carriers and on 0% finance. Why pay more and withdraw money from accounts making interest? That's not financial sense to me.

I think most of us run contract to contract. At upgrade time we look what models are available at what price and decide on a handset that suits our priorities? And also perhaps what ecosystem we are invested in. Each individual will have to make that choice certainly. If Samsung had all the...
