This will take your sound system performance to a whole new level, much more effective than spending multiple 5 figures on components.

I wasn't clear, what I wanted to emphasize is that solderless sounds better. I used these connectors per cdcosta' recommendation.

I replaced Neutrik soldered XLRs on $1k+ Chord Company cables with the clones and got readily audinle improvements at both ends.

In my experience ceramic pieces don't do much for vibration control, use decoupling devices per cdacosta's advice.

Don't forget, these ground boxes respond very well to vibration control.

I did what you did, your descriptions are indeed what I'm hearing. The hologram is more solid and the sense of "thereness" is greater. Any subtle fuzziness or looseness of the presentation has been improved, an analogy would be like snapping in the focus of a fine lens. My casual experiments...

Thanks for this cdacosta, this tweak is a level up for my system. I placed them at the most effective ground box location: the xlr interconnects. I have more crystals and lots of ground box cables to treat, it's gonna be fun.

25kg is more than any component I'm using them with so I can't offer meaningful input on that. Fortunately they're cheap to experiment with. The last time I compared ceramic to steel I preferred steel, though that system iteration was not nearly as resolving as it is now (thanks to rochelle salt...

I use a lot of these in my 2 sub system. They're quite effective and make a great performing combo when paired with an absorptive solution like Isoacoustics. You can improve their performance by removing the black o-ring.

As cdacosta posted some time ago, this is a very effective location. Try connecting another box to this and see if you hear an improvement. I have 3 ground boxes connected in series to my xlr IC and each one made a big improvement.

It's fun and cheap to play with, I'm not holding my breath for any jackpots with it. A jackpot would be figuring out how to replicate the effect of the muon ethernet filter with powders and potions: https://www.networkacoustics.com/shop/muon-pro-ethernet-filter/ A friend got one and likes it...

Not freezing it, just leaving it in the fridge on a shelf.

I imagine size, type shape etc of the crystal, location, model of fridge etc will change the effect. It's subtle as you noted so I haven't spent any more time on it. Crazy though, right?

I heard the difference immediately but it was subtle and I didn't believe it. So I went back and forth many times and had to accept that it made a difference. Then a couple days later I repeated the process because I thought I was delusional. Same result so the quartz is staying there. I didn't...

"The effect sonically is hard to explain. Across the frequency spectrum, the outline or edges of notes were a bit more defined. A tad more precision?" This is what I hear with the crystal in the fridge.

It's a quarz crystal, I have no idea if size, shape etc have any bearing, it's what I had on hand. With it on a shelf in the refrigerator I can hear better separation/less fuzz in the fine treble details. I was intent on proving it to be hogwash, so much for expectation bias.

I went back and forth many times before finally accepting that having this in the fridge did improve the sound of my system (not the fridge). It's quite subtle, the Rochelle salt and hBN are much more effective when used as directed. Haven't tried those in the fridge yet 🙃

hBN update: Half the electrical junctions in the house are treated with hBN and it's a definite level up from the first phase at 1/4. These all used about 0.5 gms, the result is so good I'm leaving them alone. I will probably finish the rest by/on the weekend and will use 0.15 to 0.2 gms for...

The HBN arrived, I've got 12 packets of approximately 0.4 grams installed and it does what you said, thanks cdacosta, it's like Xmas again. Many more locations to go, haven't tried black yet.

That's the same HBN item/supplier I ordered. 2nd GB on DAC/pre: the incumbent GB is on a preamp output and is doing a great job. That was moved from the chassis ground screw and made a nice improvement in the process. The 2nd GB attempt was at a Line input, the immediate effect was to widen the...

It's on order, by the time it arrives you'll be further along your research. Sounds very interesting, can't wait to play with it. A ground box experiment week surprised me, I put a 2nd GB on the DAC/pre via rca into a Line input. There's already one attached to a pre output channel that is very...
