Ah … cool. Thanks for clarifying! Interesting … I do have a WiiM connected into a Sonos Connect which kind of mirrors this behavior to send the audio to other Sonos speakers (I don’t really use it though). So this would make this setup kind of irrelevant if I can just Airplay to Sonos speakers...

What does this mean about audio to Airplay speakers? I know that Airplay is already supported, but don’t understand what this new beta firmware will do. Is it to better support analog input to the Pro Plus to other WiiMs with regards to quality? Thanks.

For an extra $8, get the WiiM Pro and Voice Remote combo over just the unit itself! Such a deal … I also bought an extra remote at the sale price since I will have multiple WiiMs.

So far so good in doing a factory reset and removing all previously connected Bluetooth devices. I paired a few key devices and so far battery life seems to be back to normal.

Nope … 192khz using optical right out of the box didn’t work after setting it all up. I wonder how common of a problem this is with the optical port. Mini always worked fine for me. When I get back home will try to troubleshoot further, otherwise might have to replace it with a new unit. EDIT...

I just hooked up my WiiM Pro yesterday and can’t get 192K over optical to work either. I had no problems with my WiiM Mini and 192K over optical. Might try a factory reset before contacting support to see if that will do anything. Sigh. UPDATE: Oops - my bad. Sorry to raise false alarms here...

Good question - I’m not technical in this area so I can’t answer that … maybe others might know? Even my tv supports aptX .. would have expected this in newer hardware (unless licensing costs comes into play).

WiiM confirmed the Pro still only has SBC and AAC. No aptX / HD / Adaptive / Lossless for higher quality bluetooth headphones listening (mine supports aptX Adaptive). Oh well … maybe in Pro V2.

Personally I’m hoping for even better bluetooth codecs in the Pro (WiiM Mini currently supports Bluetooth 5.0, SBC and AAC codec). Hoping for aptX at least.

Does anyone know what the “Comfort Call” setting does in the app? I haven’t been able to find any documentation on it (I’m sure I’m missing it but I give up). Just curious… Also - I tend to like the Sidetone to be off when using it for phone calls (still learning on what settings work best).

Thanks for that reminder and well worth activating. I double-checked and I do have that set on already, and I should clarify the loud volume connection issues would happen when connecting to non-iOS devices. I feel like I’m missing something in my setup to prevent this from happening.

It took me awhile to get used to their iOS app. I have mine connected to 6 devices, and i would get wild results in trying to connect to them in different scenarios. I know it supports 2 simultaneous connections, but it was super buggy until I figured out how to connect in a fairly stable way...
