I tend to agree, however my experiences with 2k+ headphones are only as store demos with semi unfamiliar chains. For me the sweetspot lies between 1-2k (say from 109 pro to ZMF Atrium which i got to try). On a side note, that Mars Volta album is great, regardless of its recording quality.
