The New Chord Quartet MScaler Discussion Thread
It is exactly the same thing that happened to me, I also listened to Gryphon, it was to me a complete waste of money, my Parasound with M scaler/TT-2 blew all their stuff away, and yes I can afford their stuff it was still a waste, it didn't move me one bit.- GuiltyRocker

That's weird, mines are solid. The soldering may have come undone, call Chord you should send that unit back to them for repair.- GuiltyRocker

I personally love the colored orbs on the M Scaler, after looking at the manual once I remember what the colors mean, including the resolution colors on the input side, it's unique to Chord and I like that, I do agree with you that the DAVE interface is clunky, I prefer the TT-2 one in every way.- GuiltyRocker

The attacks started already? Well that didn't take long, can't say I'm surprised, the vitriol against Rob Watts and Chord is tangible. Especially by some religious nuts out there ๐ ๐ ๐- GuiltyRocker

Very true, if I was Rob and Chord I'd just make a proprietary cable/input/output to eliminate the issue of using other DACs, especially DACs with poor clocks and terrible jitter performance, it's just not worth it.- GuiltyRocker

I've never seen any other DAC attract such modifications, it is amazing. Are people doing this with Chi-Fi? ๐ ๐ ๐- GuiltyRocker

Perhaps Rob should release one of these new power supplies for the current M Scaler, I know a lot of people dislike the stock power supply.- GuiltyRocker

Me too, but a lot of people fall for that feeling, it is an evolutionary trait to keep searching and focus on what we don't have. That "boring" feeling is fleeting as long as you know what is going on.- GuiltyRocker

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Exactly, there are many variables that contribute to your enjoyment of the system. There is sleep, your mood, and if you're stressed or not, and a few others. This hobby is not straight forward as many would like us to believe, it's not just the system, a big part of it is how well you're...- GuiltyRocker

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
At some point we have to stop and just enjoy what we have. I really enjoy the M scaler with TT-2, I paired it with an amp and preamp that makes it shine even more and speakers that truly gel with Chord, now I'm just enjoying music. The chase is over.- GuiltyRocker

I prefer the Parasound JC-5 for stereo or a Parasound JC-1 mono amplifiers, there is ZERO transparency loss and it sounds utterly amazing. To me, Parasound compliments Chord DACs better than their own amps, I listened to one of the Chord Amps and I didn't care at all for it.- GuiltyRocker
