No hard feelings. But you should read this https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/n9nggx/atom_amp_apple_dongle_vs_dongle_only_hd6xx/

Unless your ears are gone, the apple dongles does not do the 6XX justice, they simply do not provide enough current & voltage even for the more efficient 560s, compare it to any half decent desktop amp it'll sound thin, lacking dynamics especially in the bass. For the life of god only use apple...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

560s & 6XX are same same but different if you know what I mean, 560s have more bass extension 6XX more mid bass, one is airier, the other is more refined in the treble, male vocals sounds best on 6XX whereas 560s is thinner but female vocals shines more. I use both of them interchangeably and...

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

Although I don't find them to be sibilant, they definitely come across as shouty around 1-2 khz, so mid-forward recordings like Norah Jones can be a little annoying but nothing you can't handle and can easily be fixed with a slight eq (though I don't myself). IMO there are very few headphones...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

I wonder how the pulse elite would compare since it's also a closed back planar - although for $150 USD I'm not expecting much

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

No, I've tried both, 660s has less bass, same mids, more treble, but if treble is your taste then just get the 600

    Neumann NDH 30

Do neumanns get earpads support like they do with sennheisers? That's one thing that deter me from buying these since at least with sennehiser I know 10 or 20 years down the line they will still stock the originals pads

    Shure SRH840a

I think DMS has a review that compared the 440a to 840a, he said it was definitely an upgrade in sound

Discover a new world of sound: Make way for the IE 200

Are these bright? I know it has less treble than IE600 but some ppl found that one to be harsh. How do these compare to let say HD 560s or 600?

    Sony MDR-MV1

I had a chance to demo the Z7 along with the SRH-1540 back in 2014. VERY bassy but not in a bad way, much better than beats and whatnot. For most music you'd want a bass shelf at around 0-150Hz, anything after that then the mids will just sound muffled. Are you into the Harman tuning?

    Sony MDR-MV1

Me too, I'm been searching for years for an open back that can do sub-bass justice, it's a lot to ask but I know for damn sure it's not impossible

    Sony MDR-MV1

Do you find the MV1 to be sibilant? there's a peak at around 8-9khz, which I find extremely harsh and unrefined in headphones that have the same characteristics

Creative Aurvana Live! Review and Mods

The Cals are great for their price back in the day, unfortunately, they have a few shortcomings 1. The pads are shaped in a way where they're too big to be on-ear but too small for over ears 2. They get sweaty after an hour or so of listening, even in winter 3. The headband doesn't have much...

    Sony MDR-MV1

Agree, 1AM2 is one of the comfiest headphones ever made, I would say just behind the MA900 which is the bee's knees. Also Sennheiser headphones have a lot of clamp force to begin with so the pads have to wear in for it to get comfortable, afterwards it's pure bliss

    Shure SRH840a

Do you think the 840a sounds better than the K371? I've also tried the 770, it's a good headphone, especially in the bass department but I find the treble to be undefined (too many peaks & dips). Also, it's hard to find closed-back headphones that are comfortable, I feel like Sennheiser are the...

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

how long do the pads usually last? I've had my 560s for over 2 years and the pads are still solid

    Sony MDR-MV1

I see a lot of people use some sort of headband cover on their z7, so I'm guessing they wear out pretty quickly or don't lasts. Wanted to grab one but most second-hand ones are like $400 that looked like they just came back from Iraq

They really are incredible, so smooth and buttery but also detailed and textured, although apparently, the new ndh-30 is just like the 600 but with actual flat bass, so we might have a new king I dunno

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

After a week of continuous listening, I gotta say the HD 6xx is pure sex, every song I listened to came across so smooth and buttery - no harshness whatsoever. It may not have the best soundstage and imaging but boy does it have warmth and intimacy which makes the vocals and instruments come...

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

I just got it today, first few hours of impressions: I CANNOT tell a single difference What T.F!!? there might be less treble here and there but you can honestly pass it for the same headphone. Do all sennheisers have the same signature or what? coz at least with my sonys you can tell it apart...
