CEntrance DACmini DAC/Amplifier Official Thread
May I ask if the dacmini cx is really packed without power cord ? Mine has arrived that way. Adapter was there just nothing with which to plug it into wall :) Had to use some old PC cable...- appletree

Amp for a Sennheiser 595
With good source and amp 595s do improve considerably. But imo you don't have to spend that much if you just want an amp which is able to drive 595s (300$ amp would be most likely an overkill for HD 595), at that price range you could probably go for DAC + amp combo which would provide higher...- appletree

CEntrance DACmini DAC/Amplifier Official Thread
Probably a silly question, but does dacmini CX do the playback in real-time ? Like it can be used for gaming ? Asking just to be sure (because I read it uses some sort of internal buffering to defeat jitter)- appletree

Recommendation for AMP/Dac combo for HD650 and in the future HD800
Quote: Btw if you were considering the Plus version, may I point you to another interesting DAC ? Google for JKDAC32 - it has some good reviews going on e.g. like this: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0412/usb_dac_shootout.htm Similar concept to the music...- appletree

A question to Burson HA 160 owners
So what are you suggesting ? That all class A amplifiers hooked to any desktop PC are supposed to suffer with serious noise issues ? And that this is supposed to be a norm ? If so what about the quotation from above: "According to Burson, the ground loop was limited to a few computers. To...- appletree

A question to Burson HA 160 owners
Hello Recently I bought HA-160 (just the amp without DAC) and I am having some static noise issues when using my desktop PC as a source with only exception being toslink. However usb link to DAC -> HA 160, or onboard sound -> SPDIF -> DAC -> HA 160, or onboard sound -> analog out -> HA 160...- appletree

HELP! Burson HA-160DS hum/noise problem
Well, my understanding was that Burson has addressed these problems already, but I am not exactly sure if it means they've made new revisions of HA 160 and HA-160D or they have addressed it only in the new HA-160DS, or what exactly (if anything) have they done. Can someone explain to me...- appletree

HELP! Burson HA-160DS hum/noise problem
My ha-160 (not D, not DS, just amp without dac) has arived today. Immediately after plugging in HD 595 into the left socket I have noticed static buzzing of quite high intensity. It was less noticable with Q701 and least noticable with HD 650 but still there. (interestingly the right socket...- appletree

Closed portables for classical
Quote: I already have HD650 and I don't like them - at least not with my present amp. And I certainly woulnd't bring them outside even if some 1000$ portable amp could make them sound like the best phones in the universe somehow.- appletree

Closed portables for classical
At the end I decided to go for ATH ES55. It sounded really nice especially from my desktop amp, however comfort-wise it was not my cup of tee. And the biggest problem: due to its closed construction it was creating to much pressure on my ear-drums (due to medical condition of my ears) resulting...- appletree

REVIEW : Burson Audio HA-160 with listening impressions
I am more or less decided on upgrading from HD 595 :) to Q701 (after auditioning to K701 this weekend) and since my amp is not adequate I also intend to buy a new amp to complement them. After reading positive feedback about x702 + HA-160 synergy I am very tempted to add seriousness to my home...- appletree

Where to move from HD 595 ? (AKG Q701, ATH AD-900 ...)
I've been using HD 595 for couple of years now. First paired with E-MU 0404 USB later I bought DAC + AMP called Carat Ruby 2 (not hugely popular on head-fi seems so: http://styleaudio.typepad.com/styleaudio_hifi_usb_mini_/2010/05/2010-new-caratruby2.html ) That DAC/AMP costed me about 250...- appletree

Closed portables for classical
Can you please recommend me closed portable headphones (not IEMs) for classical music ? By that I mean they should be as neutral / non-agressive as possible. They especially shouldn't have overpowering bass / bass boost etc. as my ears are quite sensitive. Basically in this case: less bass is...- appletree

How to build a Super computer.
Just found this thread and I am wondering why none explicitly said that having supercomputer cluster as a gaming rig is useless (unless maybe the game you are interested in is computer chess). There are just few games that can fully utilize four cores, to have 20+ cores even on one chip (not...- appletree

nuforce Icon HDP as PC source ?
And what about playing tracks with different bitrates at the same time ? E-MU 0404 USB issues in win7x64
Hello I've been using E-MU 0404 USB without problems in XP, however when switched to Vistax64 and now Win 7x64 it often happens to me that the sound will suddenly become muted. iAudio service in Europe / Worldwide
I had iAudio7 for about 2 months when the volume control broke up. It was some minor mechanical failure - something of what I would think will be easy and fast to repair. Help me choose (SE530, UM2 or Klipsch Image)
Perhaps "sux" is strong word, but it seems like genral agreement that due to rolled off highs and dominant bass they are not very well suited for classical. One opinion for all: Have you heard classical music on the E500s...........if you have you've only heard two thirds of it, as you can't...- appletree
