That reminds me... I had a helluva time finding a compatible match for that thing. Seems like everything I paired it up with just sounded off. Penon's Vortex & SeaElf's hakugei cable finally found their acoustic match. [SeaElf iem is in the "Sunken Place" of a wooden drawer] So far that cable...

Yup same here. And surprisingly these finally found a home with Quattro... And Quattro's cable went to Serial... And acoustically it all works (for me). This hobby is uncanny alchemy or I got wonky hearing (probably both).

We're all aware, but just a gentle reminder... All (EA500/LM, EA1000) of those removable sound nozzles/tubes are interchangeable😉. And if you get the Simgot diy tuning kit ($6-8usd), you have even more personalization options (extra foams, mesh filters, replacement sound nozzles/tubes, etc)...

Simgot seems to have authentically reignited the DD renaissance in the iem world. Or at the very least grabbed some attention away from the hybrids, planars, tribrids, etc (ea2000 & 1000 have DD + passive radiators, but I didn't categorize them as hybrids). Can't believe the venerable oxygen...

Definitely understand... love/hate relationship with them over the past 9 months. Last 4-5 transactions with them had some issue (wrong item, incomplete shipment, missing parts, etc). All feasibly addressed & resolved but kinda un-Penon-like slip-ups. They did send the Xmas wallet... so...
