The retro IEM thread. Lets talk about our old discontinued IEMs
My old Fiio F5 can kill a whole bunch of new 1-DD earphones in terms of tonality, balance and harmony. Every time I put these earphones in my ears I am astonished by their overall sound quality. Exceeding in nothing, but better overall than so many praised earphones nowadays... Sometimes I think...- Vass66

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread
Strange, but for E3000 and E4000 I use Final eartips size M, while for E2000 and E1000 - size L (the biggest ones). The sound of E3000 and E4000 with size L feels like a lot of bass, with a loss in ultra high frequencies, so I prefer them with size M, with which I get a slightly transparent sound.- Vass66

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread
Now I make an eartips rolling on my new Final E4000. Of course, I like the original eartips but I'm looking for a tiny change of sound - a bit higher upper treble maybe. What is your experience with other eartips on E4000?- Vass66

Best audiophile metal and rock albums
I was too...back then. And almost 12 years after... I decided to give it a try again. And I have found it was one of the best albums that Judas Priest ever made. Maybe this album was ahead of its time in some way. Now I love it... -

LG V50 ThinQ Smartphone
I second that. In fact G7 (tuned by Bang & Olufsen) is precise, but "colder", while V50 (tuned by Meridian) is "warmer". So if you like a bit warmer presentation, buy a V50 (or G8x if you are in Europe)! You won't receive a step up in quality, but more of a side grade.- Vass66

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
I see that you have been deceived by the extremely high hype for these HZ Sound Heart Mirror. Maybe you had to find out in advance who likes such a sound. These are usually people who listen to specific (and very calm) music that relies on great detail in the high frequencies. I for one...- Vass66

Best Smartphone for audiophile Part II (Updated: Jan 2020)
As per https://www.androidauthority.com/lg-quad-dac-1115577/ V30 is tuned by Bang & Olufsen, while G7, G8, G8x, V50 are tuned by Meridian. Both companies are already legendary with their audio products. I don't have V30 but I doubt there is a significant step up in sound quality, so no urgent...- Vass66

It sounds to me as my MEE Audio Pinacle P1 with Final e-type eartips or similar. You can try to find them second hand on eBay for about 100 USD.- Vass66

The discovery thread!
Not always. I would like to see new earphones that are better than, for example, MEE Audio Pinacle P1, Final E3000, Soundmagic E80 or Sennheiser IE40 Pro in their relevant price category and different signatures. Most of the nowadays offers are repetitions of the same earphones, again and again...- Vass66

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!
I'm looking for a decent low budget 3.5 MMCX earphone cable with 3-buttons mic, that I can buy from Aliexpress. Up to now I bought 6-7 FDBRO cables with mic (0.78 2-pin and MMCX) but now I'm looking for an upgrade cable (with mic) for Final E4000 earphones which I wait to be delivered to me. I...- Vass66

Hi all! I'm following this head-fi forum as anonymous reader for maybe 5 or 6 years. And now I think it's time to become active... My favourite music styles are: hard rock, heavy metal, progressive heavy... as well as the old good rock and blues - from The Beatles up to Iron Maiden / Judas...- Vass66
