[FiiO M17] Dual ES9038PRO, dual THXAAA-788+, dual power supplies, 9200mAh battery, 2 volume control modes
Oh my! Didn't realize that was such a strain. Well, aside from that I think I've taken pretty good care of the battery even without being aware of the swelling issue. I placed a charge limit at 80% and have only gone past that one time when I needed to maximize battery life, and I don't let it...- Clobes

[FiiO M17] Dual ES9038PRO, dual THXAAA-788+, dual power supplies, 9200mAh battery, 2 volume control modes
Thanks, viffer! It's in battery mode, but plugged in to USB power at the same time. So only things plugged into it are SPIDF, USB, and headphones/iems. Also tested without USB power just on battery. Cans/IEMs have varied: Beyer DT 177x, Senn IE600, Moondrop KATO, Shuoer S12, Senn HD660S, Grado...- Clobes

[FiiO M17] Dual ES9038PRO, dual THXAAA-788+, dual power supplies, 9200mAh battery, 2 volume control modes
Anyone else plug their M17 into the SPIDF out from a TV? (in my case LG E8, in case it matters) It works but I get occasional audio dropouts resulting in having to rewind because I missed a word. I have tested different playback apps on the TV, i.e. playing video from a USB plugged into the TV...- Clobes

[FiiO M17] Dual ES9038PRO, dual THXAAA-788+, dual power supplies, 9200mAh battery, 2 volume control modes
It happens always. On the first song of the day when the device is room temperature. I'm positive it's not because of heat. What I said before about heat management was speculation on my part that it turns off the power-hungry internals to save battery and/or avoid producing unnecessary heat...- Clobes

[FiiO M17] Dual ES9038PRO, dual THXAAA-788+, dual power supplies, 9200mAh battery, 2 volume control modes
Always. I think it's supposed to be a power and/or heat management feature by turning off the DAC or amp when it's not playing anything. I'll take reduced battery or higher heat if it means I can play audio instantly without the click sound and delay.- Clobes

[FiiO M17] Dual ES9038PRO, dual THXAAA-788+, dual power supplies, 9200mAh battery, 2 volume control modes
Has anyone discovered a way to keep the M17 output "awake"? It's frustrating that after a few seconds of nothing playing it shuts off the output and when you start playing something again it takes a couple seconds for it to come back on making an audio click/pop. Either I miss the first couple...- Clobes

RS2e Driver 'Quick Fix'?
Just got an email back from the Grado team regarding my repair inquiry. $150 for a repair, plus at least 3 weeks. Seems reasonable to me so I'll probably go that route. I'd still be getting a pretty decent deal on these for that money. Plus, I wanted an older pair that I wouldn't feel bad for...- Clobes

RS2e Driver 'Quick Fix'?
Hi, Head-Fi! First time poster, here. I recently picked up a pair of used RS2e's for a really good price, with the caveat that the left driver is a bit messed up. It really can only reproduce the very upper end of the mids and treble. The lower spectrum is completely absent. I've determined...- Clobes
