Mass Kobo, and Luxman IMO are the 2 best SS amps with d8kpro

He has the real deal Final audio connectors. Trevor made me a cable last year, it's excellent. Highly recommended.

Have a look at Norne audio cables as well. He even has the proper locking connectors for final.

I use a Nissyo step down transformer. To my ears with the transformer it sounds exactly as it did in Tokyo when listening to it.... amazing!

had a chance to test out a few popular usb options. supra 2.0 oyaide neo viborg uc01 the viborg blows the others out of the water. I was surprised how poor the supra and oyaide sound in comparison. I'm a bit hesitant to try the supra excalibur at this point.

Try to give one of the finals a listen. Although if you are in the market for the Yamaha, they are on totally opposite ends of the spectrum sound wise.

If you get a chance to try the Mk2 it sounds even better.

I think if possible try to audition both. But for me the d8kpro is just a better headphone across the board, it also takes eq quite well. A good amp pairing also makes a rather large difference.

When I tried both, the Luxman is most definitely a step above, the mk2 even more so. But take that with a grain of salt as I was only using d8000pro to test with. Other headphones may be better on the M3

my topping E30 is unbeatable.

Haven't heard them side by side, but from memory the MK has a dynamic punchy sound that is quite addicting. The US5 has a wonderful sense of space and shape to the sound. But I preferred the MK for things I listen to.

I think a lot of people glaze over a nice amp for these headphones, just because they are considered "easy to drive". A good amp makes such a difference with them. They scale so well with quality amplification. Some amps even make them sound quite poor.
