Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
Do you mean "pure" mode, or whatever it's called? I don't use it. I can't imagine it would make any difference.- vext01

I use Poweramp on my M3X. The only possible advantage of using the Shanling app is that it doesn't output at a fixed sample rate (as Poweramp currently does). You'd have to have very acute hearing to detect artifacts introduced by resampling. Personally I can't hear any difference.- vext01

[KA3/KA13] FIIO X JADEAUDIO USB DAC DONGLE
@FiiO This review says: > The power consumption of the FiiO KA13 was measured at 0.14A/0.76W when idling and 0.15A/0.77W while playing a 24bit/96kHz file with the FiiO FT3 (32Ω) at a loud but safe listening volume. This power consumption remains exactly the same in both working modes (desktop...- vext01

[KA3/KA13] FIIO X JADEAUDIO USB DAC DONGLE
Couple of questions about the KA13: - With desktop mode off, how is the power drain on a phone battery? - Are the volume increments good for sensitive iems? (I've tried a few dongles where volume N is too low and volume N+1 is too high) - Does it support inline mics? I think the answer is no...- vext01

HiBy Digital M300 Android Digital Audio Player,"The Gen-Z Music Player" - Discussion thread
Hey, does anyone know the answers to the following about the M300: - Does it have bluetooth receiver mode? - If so, do the hardware buttons work to play/pause/skip the bluetooth source? - Can the internal speaker be disabled? Thanks- vext01

Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
As others have said, the software in the M3X is now ancient. I'll add to the list of negative points: - hardware buttons don't work in bluetooth receiver mode - sometimes crashes when starting playback for the first time after boot I looked at the m300. Does anyone know if it has...- vext01

Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
Hi @Shanling, I've reported this before, but it's still an ongoing issue a year later. Every so often, my M3X just freezes up and the only way to get it back is to hold down the power button for about 30 seconds to hard reboot it. I don't know exactly how to reliably reproduce the crash, but...- vext01

Are you using the gesture UI? I find that the gesture UI is way over-sensitive and that it's all too easy to activate the "back" command when scrolling a page near the edges of the screen. Could this be the ghosting you speak of? Once I sat down and compared the gesture UI of the M3X against a...- vext01

I'm going the other direction. I've sold my HibyOS players and going back to my Android phone + BTR3K. I like Hiby hardware, but they are not good software engineers. I find the stability and UI of their players frustrating.- vext01

@Shanling Would it be possible to push an update to have the hardware buttons send the corresponding bluetooth command (previous, next, toggle play) when using bluetooth amp mode? I'd like to be able to pause my music, or rewind/fast forward a podcast when my phone is sending audio via...- vext01

Hiby FC3 Portable DAC&, MQA Compatible
Hi everyone, A while back I bought a FC3, as I knew the day would come where I buy a phone with no headphone jack. That day has come. The fc3 works with my Samsung A34, but only for a while, then it goes silent. The indicator LED is still lit, suggesting the dongle is still getting an audio...- vext01

Normally with these custom OS DAPs you can't (although HiBy did try with the R3). Let us know if you find a way.- vext01

Ok, I understand your point. Different headphones measure the same, but sound/feel different due to what the housing is made of, or where they sit on your head. Ok. But here we are talking, same source and dac. Amp, headphones and speakers can be removed from the equation to simplify the...- vext01
