Just got round to finishing mods on my DT 1770's today, re-wired all internally with braided mix of 24awg silver/OCC copper litz, balanced socket, part perforated angled lambskin pads....SW..cables etc giggle..lol... Little bit overkill but pretty, easy on the ear's and eye's, giggle...

Yes, correct as I meant on the rear of the driver if you remove the OEM foam from rear spider cage and are not using one of the C.C. foam bullet options with the back weight ring. Some folks choose to not install any foam bullets when doing this C.C. mod, which leaves the rear of driver...

Just another thought/take on C.C. mods if you wish to try tweaking etc. Keeping out hairs and pollutants if you don't wish to use foam filters, why not try a sheer mesh/fabric such as silk organza like the sheer material in-front of driver/side and if you wish to increase dampening can...

If your after an idea/suggestion as to what kind of mesh to look for, I find silk organza is a good material to use. You can get it in varying densities depending on how fine you want the mesh and silk is almost transparent acoustically. Mines just from the local fabric shop my wife frequents...
