iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.

Not tried that but I still have copper wire internet - I suspect your finding is because of having fibre optic - I know for sure the EE8 switch helped my system -it had perhaps an even bigger impact than the isilencer

iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.

Exactly my experience - I first of all tried the isilencer on my network switch (EE 8 switch) and was so impressed I bought a second and put it on my router (a BT Smart hub 2). Noticeable uptick in dynamics and clarity similar to swapping out cheap cables for decent ones. It's a keeper.

    Eversolo DAC-Z6/Z8: Impressions and Discussion

Z6 uses different ESS chip, different op amps and different PSU and reviews where they have had both z6 and z8 indicate z8 sounds better

    Eversolo DAC-Z6/Z8: Impressions and Discussion

My unit is proving pretty stable - I have had one brief drop-out over USB and no dropouts over coaxial. I do have one weird issue playing MQA albums via Tidal via my Innuos server (USB), where the first half a second of each track is cut.

    Eversolo DAC-Z6/Z8: Impressions and Discussion

The Holo is supposedly an amazing DAC - how would you describe the sound signature vs the Z8? Also DO300 vs Z8 ?

    Eversolo DAC-Z6/Z8: Impressions and Discussion

Nice review. I’m still forming my opinions about the Z8. At the moment I’m finding it a surprisingly big change from my previous DAC, a Mytek Liberty. The Liberty was a very lively DAC with a full bodied engaging delivery. So far I’m finding the Z8 more refined and neutral- that requires a...

    Eversolo DAC-Z6/Z8: Impressions and Discussion

Headphone amp section is supposed to be the weak point of the Z8 I think, but be interested to know what you find

mine's arrived so I will also share my impressions but it is in a 2-channel speaker setup I'm not using cans with it

    Eversolo DAC-Z6/Z8: Impressions and Discussion

Heard from some folks that bass on the Z8 can be over-blown and bloated - any owners experienced that? The YT reviews mention full bass but that's not the same as overblown and bloated - how do owners on here find the bass ?

@corgifall Thanks. Some reviewers on US Amazon report intermittent dropouts not cured by latest firmware- have you had any issues like that ?

    How’s it compare to SU-9 or 10 or vmv d1se etc ?

iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.

yes I bought just one to start with and put it in the back of the router, feeding into the EE 8 switch. This had the biggest impact. Adding a second to the back of the 8 switch had a more modest impact but it was still worth it - I think these are unbelievable value given the impact they have. I...

iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.

Not directed at me but interesting we both have EE switch and have been impressed by this little ifi product - I have two as I said earlier - one in back of router that then goes into the EE 8 switch and I bought a second and put that in the back of the 8 switch which then goes from 8 switch to...

New ES9039MSPRO DAC: SMSL VMV D1se2 ES9039MSPRO MQA-CD Bluetooth DAC With Remote Control

Hmm well tbh quite a lot of electronics have some functionality I don’t use and sometimes the tech is indeed licensed from other companies- in hi fi Dolby Labs is a good example- I mean before Dolby C and S came around I thought Dolby noise reduction on consumer tape cassette units was crap and...

New ES9039MSPRO DAC: SMSL VMV D1se2 ES9039MSPRO MQA-CD Bluetooth DAC With Remote Control

Since ESS chips now have MQA decoding built in does that mean you boycott any new ESS based DAC ? You hate MQA that much ? You can use these DACs without using MQA

Perfect ! Well done. And once again - THANK YOU for an excellent value product that really does improve sound quality for a reasonable cost (as do your other filters)

Same here my BT router has no socket LEDs - so we can breathe out - we don’t have faulty units - I kind of knew it anyway because as I said earlier the two units I placed in my hi fi Rig have had a positive impact on the sound of streaming

Thanks everyone- also just got confirmation from ifi via support ticket: Thank you for contacting us. The LAN iSilencer has two optical strips going through it. The unit does not have its own LED's. If you have a router/switch with connection LED's flashing when connected, then you may see...

Thanks I even tested mine in complete darkness and they definitely do not illuminate. if you have the time and inclination can you try an experiment? Can you try your unit in the back of your internet router and see if they also illuminate then ? I also note that port you have it plugged into...

iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.

Up to you. I am convinced the two I have in my system have impacted the sound regardless of the LEDs. I spoke to a Canadian hi fi retailer and they also were very impressed with a demo unit they obtained when they tried it on a hi end setup in their showroom - when I asked if their unit had...

iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.

If you are assuming no lights = faulty then I know a lot of people with faulty units - out of everyone I have corresponded with so far - about 10 other users, 7 report no lights 3 report LEDs that illuminate and that includes people in UK, US and Canada. It's possible there was a faulty batch...

You linked to a search result with lots of hits - is there a specific page on that landing search page I should be looking at to explain why I get no LEDs illuminating? And if you know the answer can’t you just help us out and tell us ? I see lots of links to pages explaining different colours...
