Recording Impulse Responses for Speaker Virtualization

That’s awesome news. I can’t test it for a few days myself but came across it on Reddit. Does it decode on the fly or do you have to encode the audio separately ? Also he wrote this “This also only works with e-ac3+joc not trueHD+” @musicreo Did you try trueHD?

Anyone played around with this? Is it something we could use with our hrir’s?

Thanks for the explanation that makes different atmos more clear. My pc sound options for the lg tv never showed atmos or Dolby digital with atmos mat 2.0/2.1. Since using the modded driver I now have these formats listed and when using with Dolby access on pc with height mix I’m getting subtle...

Sorry if I keep banging on about this but just listening to my hrir with Dolby home theatre v4 installed into my tv driver sounds lifelike. I’ve been to cinema listened to Dolby atmos even the new avatar I watched at the best imax I could find with the best sound. And it didn’t sound as good as...

These latest posts are giving me an itch to try some more measurements.

I will try this method if I get a chance to do measurements again. Yours looks very secure so there isn’t much movement. It’s a shame we can’t just use your measurements and add in our ears.

This is amazing and dedication lol. I think I was going too far too with the protractor printout and the laser guides. The in ear mic setup look clean too can you show more pictures of what you used and how the wire is placed?

It’s the other user that’s getting the centre channel in the rear. Yes the Dolby for headphones is only using stereo then doing its thing to give binaural sound. It might be different because I’m using the Dolby headphones on the “listened to” device. I know two binauralisation will sound...

How are you getting sound coming out from your pc to the headphones. Could that be causing the issue

I get 7.1 without enabling Dolby atmos and just using the normal guide. But I’ve found when I do use Dolby atmos for headphones it’s like I’m in the movie and not just sounds around me. Also listening to music is as I’m in a live recording. Dolby atmos for home theatre gives me a similar...

Could the problem be there was too much sound reflected from the back wall when doing your measurement? Try what I was forced to do and record with one speaker but instead of putting the speaker behind you. You use one speaker for all 7 measurement and turn your body instead.

I use Dolby atmos for headphone in the playback option in the lg tv which is used as the listening device for vb cable. Vb cable is still set to 7.1 and off in spatial sound tab. It’s kinda hard to explain without many screenshots. So windows playback tab click my device (lg tv is my default...

Also whats made a huge difference to my surround sound is using dolby atmos for headphones for the device vb cable is listening to in windows settings, be sure to set the sample rate to 2 channel, 24 bit 48000 Hz. keep vbcale as default for sound though. I think it should work with windows sonic...

Would anyone happen to know a way to be able to use hesuvi with our BRIR’s for ps5 sound. Remote play works but I don’t think it can stream surround sound.

No I had someone help with the scanning. It’s near impossible to get a good scan by yourself. But the people that did the scan didn’t do the best job so I had to work out how to stitch a good right ear scan with a good left ear scan taken on different days. That may have affected the overall...

Feels like we should be paying jakko for this. Saved a few grand from buying either an A16 or a good surround system.

This sounds promising. But like you said Dolby renderer is really crap at playing most file types. I was wondering if I have a Dolby atmos tv and through hdmi and earc I set my windows settings to listen to the tv with Dolby for home theatre would I be able to achieve Dolby atmos with virtual...
