Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
I also have the elite series 274b rectifier in my WA6 SE. I went from stock to sophia princess then gz32 and have now settled on the linlai 😀 I agree with your comments, though I thought the bass sounded just right for me but I'm limited to what I can compare it to. I'm also using the stock...- Alfred Oz

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
I've noticed in the first 5 minutes or so of turning on my amp, I get a 'wooshing' sound come and go through the right channel of my headphone. Volume is turned all the way down so not sure how i'm getting that sound.... doesn't appear to happen once the amp is warmed up. Anyone else get this...- Alfred Oz

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
To be honest I can't tell the difference between each filter. Is there any test tracks that really accentuate the differences?- Alfred Oz

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
I was able to use audirvana to test out some DSD files with my Qutest recently and there was no distortion. I was testing with both wasapi and asio because I was testing my qutest relating to another issue. Using roon if I upsample in DSD there's no distortion and the Qutest lights up white as...- Alfred Oz

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
This is my first foray into tubes and tube rolling as well. It's just over a month now and my wallet is a little lighter too 🙃 but my ears are loving it. Like other interests there's something about dialling in your gear to just how you want it.- Alfred Oz

I think it partly comes down to taste, your ears, placebo, trying new things and narrowing your preferences over time. Although having said that, I thought the stock rectifier was disappointing and anyone would benefit from upgrading it. I'm glad I ordered a Sophia 274B when I purchased the...- Alfred Oz

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
Hi, hoping someone can help me. I'm using Qobuz, asio 1.05 drivers with my Qutest on windows 10. Certain tracks start playing really slowly. I have no idea what's causing it. Anyone experience this before?- Alfred Oz

Will upgrading from a Modi3+ to a higher-end DAC allow me to hear more details?
I've had the Qutest for a week so i'm still familiarising myself with it but I immediately noticed busier tracks to have better separation, sounded smoother and more neutral than the dragonfly. I can have long listening sessions with the Qutest, the dragonfly being punchier brought fatiguing...- Alfred Oz

Will upgrading from a Modi3+ to a higher-end DAC allow me to hear more details?
I had a dragonfly red and upgraded to an SMSL-SU9 not too long ago...I wasn't very impressed with the SMSL at first, it wasn't as punchy as the dragonfly red but definitely smoother - it's a good DAC just not enough of an improvement I was looking for. I was in a similar position with a similar...- Alfred Oz

Does everyone else's amp make little metallic clicking sounds on warm up and cool down when turning your amp on and off? I've always assumed this to be normal.- Alfred Oz

LCD-X and XC Update
Hi, new joiner and this is my first post. I read somewhere you can contact Audeze directly and have them send you the measurements of your specific headphone from QC if you provide your serial number. Has anyone done this? or is it safe to say that any LCD-X will measure pretty closely to what...- Alfred Oz

New Member Introductions thread
Been lurking for a while and thought I'd finally join. I started a few years ago with a pair of shure SE325 iems and an ibasso dx50. These days I'm mostly desktop listening on a pair of LCD-X through a WA6-SE 2nd gen amp and an SMSL SU-9 dac.- Alfred Oz
