Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Rattle is not a favourite nor a hated one, just indifferent (to me, YMMV), but the price is right, and what the hell, just to support not just physical media... also SACD! :D :heart:it. Just ordered! The musicians will get more from one doing so than from thousands of streams...- hammersrocco

It is hard... on one hand yes, and given as I have been theorizing, your (our) own hearing plays a big factor on all this. To ME, the sr80x and previous models were the harshest thing on earth... while other people sang their praises. In my mind, if the F cushions tamed the sr80x, then the...- hammersrocco

Like I mentioned before - finally being willing to swap pads AND discovering the F Pads ( or cushions? what is the preferred one, pads or cushions? ) saved my relationship with Grado. You may laugh at me, but I have been cycling thru many recordings, listening to just bits. Why? Because I am...- hammersrocco

Just to clarify - I was talking about the Geekria Comfort Pads which are the ones Geekria has that are the closest to the Grado F Pads. That said, I am updating this because today I got the actual Grado F Pads I ordered. Immediately installed. Well, amazing. Better than the Geekria comfort -...- hammersrocco

Thanks for that post - gives me an entry for my follow up - tried a different type of Geekrias - the ones that kind of look like Grado's L Cushions... and definitely a degradation - wen't back to the ones I bought first, open, no cup shape. So, it is a combination of factors IMHO - Closeness to...- hammersrocco

Ok - here I am one more time, singing the same song... but with a new verse... :D Have posted in the past that the sr325x are the first Grados that I liked... mentioned that everything I tried below those in the Prestige line, just could not get into them... I am still here because, I happened...- hammersrocco

Ok - so first post in this thread. A bit of a journey here - with just one (both fortunately and unfortunately) happy stop. Many years ago, I heard of Grado's reputation and of course, decided to try. It was a strange experience... Started with the SR80e. As usual, I started with some chamber...- hammersrocco

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Once I was given a link, where someone used a really expensive audiophile USB cable to connect a printer to a computer. The site was hilarious - guy waxed poetic in the funniest of ways about how the printouts were the best ever - really funny. I really wish I had bookmarked the link, I cannot...- hammersrocco

Asgard w/ Hifiman Sundaras not much louder than..
Use high gain mode - look for the switch in the front [Edit - I forgot the Asgard 3 has the high gain switch in the front - I do apologize ] - move it to the up position. That's the most likely reason. Also, yes, make sure your mac volume is set to all the way up. hammers- hammersrocco

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I think you are replying to a different post I made - but I know which one. Well - is like this: I do remember when my parents were crapping on my rock'n'roll telling me to listen to real music like Harry Belafonte and others similar instead of the garbage I liked! What is funny is how much...- hammersrocco

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I believe the point was not that whether @JLoud 's grandma was right or wrong, but that ( and I am starting to admit this to myself ) the present generation will ALWAYS crap on the next generation's music :D I mean, I remember reading how Franz Strauss ( Richard's dad) used to crap on that...- hammersrocco

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Indeed; when the purpose of a car is to get you from A to B, I agree, everything else is superfluous. This could be controversial thing - so I will just make an observation, not intending it to be a hot take - I think this is the crux of the biscuit. I think Ableza made a comment above re...- hammersrocco

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I have never understood how the guys at Milli Vanilli got the brunt of the impact and shame - very unfair. Number one, is not like it was an unheard of practice and number two, they just happened to get caught, in a relatively silly manner... The shame should be on the producer, Frank Farian...- hammersrocco

Thanks for the advice - specially since there is a dedicated thread - my bad, what happens is that I am so used to just check the Schiit threads ( Jason's and Baldur's) that I forget there are many other forums here! :D. That said, would love to keep getting feedback here... hammers- hammersrocco

Thanks First of all, re: Loki/Lokius - this sounds like a good recommendation for someone who just want to change things up - haven't thought of it, because to tell you the truth, I have become a bit hardcore re: not using EQ - But there is a reason - I used EQ before and I was in the habit of...- hammersrocco
