I've tried things like the Uptone regen which is supposed to one of the best but I don't think I really get much of a benefit out of it.- Fibre101

Monoprice Monolith AMT Headphones
After some time with this headphone, It is beginning to become one of my favorites. One thing I've noticed is that it scales up quiet nicely with better gear and source chains.- Fibre101

I wanted to add to the comparison as well. I think ACSS has a rich tonality that focuses on being a little more on the intimate side. Vocals and certain instruments are more solid and in your face but in a good way whereas with XLR, it feels a bit wider and laid back while keeping details intact.- Fibre101

Yeah I forgot to mention that too. Sound stage seems to be almost the same but the imaging improved significantly. The placements of instruments are better.- Fibre101

Just tried the mod. I'm pleasantly surprised. Tighter bass response, much airier treble. I wonder if other material would work better.- Fibre101

Thank you for this! I was thinking the same for burn in time as well! I have around 35-40 hours, so I'm guessing I need a bit more. At first they felt a bit veiled but there were some slight improvements after some time with it. Again, not sure if its just placebo as you mentioned. The polyfill...- Fibre101

Yeah, I've lowered the gain on the Low shelf and compensated it for the 32hz pk filter with 0.71Q, Makes for a better low end IMO.- Fibre101

Update: I added a 32hz slider, instead of the 60 used in the EQ and there is a slight improvement in sub bass performance.- Fibre101

It could be that our head shapes are different and some get a better seal than others. Other than this, I really like the depth and layering of this AMT. I use a Master 9, So around 9-10W a channel.- Fibre101

I agree. Having an AMT is like a different flavour to my collection. I've listen to many planars and dynamics and although there are some drawbacks for some more than the others, I still think AMTs are capable for more laid back sessions. These AMT's are not aggressive at all.- Fibre101

yeah sub bass. Don't get me wrong, bass is still deep and punchy though. It reminds me of what a dynamic can do with bass. Planars are the best when it comes to bass in terms of achieving the lowest bass notes.- Fibre101

Just got these headphones and I'm quite impressed. At first I was not used to the unique presentation of the music but the more I listen the better It gets. My only complaints are the bass roll off and the vocals being a bit further away. Technicalities are pretty good for the price. EQ is...- Fibre101

Audeze LCD-4
Hi, I see that you use high powered amps. Do you use the pass labs for the LCD 4? Do they respond well? I assume they do since more current tends to make planars sound better. I use a Master 9 which seems to be powerful enough but Im not sure im driving the LCD 4 to its full potential with that amp.- Fibre101

Out of all firmware, I prefer the one your on right now cause its "just right". 4.076 is much more forward/analytical. 3.933 is unique and noticeable, vocals take a step back but overtime didn't really seem as accurate. YMMV- Fibre101
