I was half worried I wi get shot down for suggesting cable change... Nice that I have someone second my opinion. Question next is how far are we willing to pay for a good cable for Lokahi. Mine was 120usd haha and I wonder if that's necessary at all.- Neverest

Review by 'Neverest' on item 'KBEAR Aurora'
Equipment used to test Schiit Modius + Topping A90 -> SE 3.5mm AURORA (STOCK with wide bore tips) I am not a trained reviewer nor do I intend to claim as one, hence I am writing this review from a listener perspective. My views are generally based on what I hear in the Low, Mids and High...- Neverest

My next question. After Lokahi.. I am very resistant to buying another IEM as I know many cannot match up to Lokahi and I am unwilling to pay too much for IEM unless it's a couple times better than Lokahi. All that being said, anyone here has a good recommendation for an iem around the price...- Neverest

Don't seems to follow. Is amp a bad thing for lokahi? I have only hip dac to drive lokahi and seems ok. Based on what you say, going without amp is better? I did try it direct from my R3 DAP with Saber chip, i prefer the Hip Dac + DAP better over just DAP alone. Will using a phone with dongle be...- Neverest

To my, for best measurement to get uncoloured and clear music reproduction. A90/D90 takes the cake here. I have a feeling Mojo does color the sound a fair bit. Try Sundara/Ananda with A90/A90 combi and i believe you will love it much.- Neverest

I have a sundara.. it will sound different with different Dac and amp. I believe Sundara likes a little more power, my suggestion, minimum amp for Sundara should be A70/A90 its very clean and clear (which some might find it thin) hence need to pair with a warmer DAC.,- Neverest

I find its lesser a difference among IEMs. I just think when it comes to headphones there are more differences in sound characteristic. I have a Sundara that is netural flat sound and it sounded extremely different when i compare to HD650 to Beyer DT880/DT990 and if i change the amp and dac...- Neverest

Seriously i think i have bad ears. I A/B Lokahi vs SSR vs V90 vs Lark and all have almost similar resolution. I can only hear differences in 1) type of bass - slam vs tight 2) separation - closed up vs define and open 3) soundstage - in the head vs outside head 4) tonality - this one is hard to...- Neverest

Yes, with something like vent but not sure the effectiveness. Mine does play veey loudly, seems like a super efficient iem, hence amp is not necessary (i tried with Hiby R3 saber pro and Hip Dac) but i enjoyed more with amplification. No bass slam BUT bass is very tight and present - that should...- Neverest
