My pair of LCD-X fell of my table and hit the ground from about 4 feet or so. They sound fine. I'm just curious if durability is something I should worry about with planar magnetic headphones? My Sony MDR700 drivers from a decade ago still work great.

There is the problem though however, of trying to decipher between a really meaty deep kick and a kick that's not as meaty. On the lcd-x, this could be a little hard, since with that dip in the base frequency they both kind of sound the same

When/where was the original announcement of this LCD-X update? All i can find is this thread. Is there a press release on the audeze website or was this post on March 29 the first announcement of these changes?
