How durable are planar magnetic headphones (LCD X)? Dropped off table

My pair of LCD-X fell of my table and hit the ground from about 4 feet or so. They sound fine. I'm just curious if durability is something I should worry about with planar magnetic headphones? My Sony MDR700 drivers from a decade ago still work great.

Sony MDR-V600 - Thoughts and General Info???

I have a pair of these headphones that I bought over a decade ago for about $30. I think the reason these are so expensive is because they are discontinued. the 600 to $900 pairs you see on the internet are brand new in box. You just can't find them brand new in box anymore. These headphones...

    LCD-X and XC Update

Honestly, I think the EQ argument is silly. Everybody's ears are different, we all hear things differently, we all have different degrees of hearing loss. EQ is the way to go to make the sound work (for any headphone, or any speaker) on a personal level. High end headphones do an amazing job to...

    LCD-X and XC Update

Probably just buy the x. They're pretty much "eq optional" according to the headphones.com guy in the newest X video. You can always sell them when the new 3 or 4 you want come out. I have the x, 2021 model. They are my first pair of high-end headphones so I have nothing to compare them to

    LCD-X and XC Update

There is the problem though however, of trying to decipher between a really meaty deep kick and a kick that's not as meaty. On the lcd-x, this could be a little hard, since with that dip in the base frequency they both kind of sound the same

    LCD-X and XC Update

i'm a music professional, its not really for listening pleasure. my use case for the headphones is producing, listening to individual sounds by themselves, like a single kick sample etc. so it's not a deal breaker. As long as my ear can adjust to the new sound of the kick in reference to my...

    LCD-X and XC Update

I can get the LCD-X to be as beefy as the mdr-v600, or even more if i use the EQ to really boost the low end. unfortunately my trial of soundsource EQ for mac ran out

    LCD-X and XC Update

I have the new 2021 LCD x. I've never had the old model, and I am disappointed with the base. My previous headphone is the Sony MDR v600, I feel like those $30 headphones have a deeper, slammier base. I mean, nowhere near as clear but yeah

    LCD-X and XC Update

When/where was the original announcement of this LCD-X update? All i can find is this thread. Is there a press release on the audeze website or was this post on March 29 the first announcement of these changes?
