My Mac Mini M1 is not being used anymore as I have stored it away. I am trying to use the iPad Pro M1 the DMP keeps saying "failed to communicate" tried different USB cables and no dice. No such issue with the ZM2.

Anybody has trouble connecting the DMP to a Mac Mini or iPad M1. In DAC mode the DMP just won't communicate with either. I don't have this problem with any other DAP including the ZM2 with Apple products. The DMP has no issues with a Windows PC, the Aurender N10 streamer or any Android DAP...

Has anyone polished the gold knob with any kind of metal polish? I only touch the knob with gloves or a soft cloth but it still picks up fine hairline scratches. This happen to everyone I am guessing.

That is pretty strange, since I couldn't be the only one with this issue. It literally was less than a one minute job. every album art is showing now.

Thank you I will check it out, I was hoping since everything look fine on the Music Center app it should transfer over fine. It's just so random some transfer is fine and then some aren't even though on the app the image is there and all seem fine.

Makes sense what you said about android for the other players. For the DMP I make sure the image is populated in the Sony Music Center Software before I transfer the album over, but some still don't. I will try with the MP3Tag, thanks!

The ZM2 has a slightly modern sound signature, DMP-Z1 feels a touch warmer. Both are built for different purpose, I wouldn't replace one with another. Both are Sony as in same sound signature. The DMP is so much more powerful which is very appealing, I personally don't feel the ZM2 is a DMP...

It's the Kimber one but Sony branded, and thanks. Yes I am a huge Sony fan, had many of their ES products for my home stereo setup in the past.

I just got the ZM2 so haven't critically compared them both. The DMP is so much more powerful that I feel it would be pointless. Having said that the DMP sounds slightly warmer and the ZM2 sounds a bit more modern, if that makes sense. Both have the smooth Sony sound signatures.

Just received my ZM2 today, loving it so far 😀 perfect companion to my DMP-Z1, one for the desk the other for bed and travel. Haven't uupdated the firmware from 1.05 to 1.07 yet

For sure will be interesting to hear the 2 side by side, have to burn in the ZM2 for a few hundred hours before that, not that the DMP will be replaced. One for desk the other for traveling and bedside.

Hey peeps I am selling my DMP-Z1. I just don't use it enough period. I am in Canada Toronto looking for $5500 USD I already have it up on Canuck Audio for a while, maybe will post it here as well.

Something is not right it looks like the same part was changed 2 times and the first time the main mother board as well. Which leads me to believe they mis diagnosed the issue and the fault is elsewhere....this caused the battery to go twice, which means the original fault hasn't been rectified...
