I agree and I wonder what is the technical reason behind this. Long time ago the same happened with the transition from MB to GB. The first SD card I bought was a 256MB.

For me the an essential point for having a DAP today is to ba able to carry my entire CD collection. Which was not possible/affordable only a few years ago.

Well I am not from the HD audio generation but rather from the CD generation. And 1Tb is a lot of CD's ! Regarding the Album issue, I dont think there is a setting for that. If you go to the list of albums and if you have the 'Very Best Of' of two different artists on your card then you will...

I am glad that you mention! It is one among many little details that, in total, I find really frustrating with this device. It can receive up to 1TB micro SD but can't display a number higher than 9999? I find in elegant that the volume display at the top goes like 001, ..., 009 - > 010, ... - >...

… Well cheap is relative as I remember being very happy to pay around £30 for 256mb SD card in the good old days.

What price are you paying for 1Tb card ? I bought a fake one on eBay once and now only stick to Amazon Basic. Which is not so cheap…

    Sony NW-A50 Series

With ~500gb it takes a very frustrating couple of minutes… Personally the frustration is increased by the fact that I made this buy to replace a 15 years old iPod that is “switching on” (in fact they are just going to sleep mode) in a second at most. So the iPod is still my prefered device for...

Welcome to the mod world ! Indeed 5th or 5.5th gen are good choice they are easy to open, have the best DAC and can onboard very large batteries. Note that the superior audio quality of 5.5th gen seems to be a myth as 5th and 5.5th have the same DAC. As a start I would recommend you go to the...

My first sd card was a 256mb bought for ~£30-40 for my first digital camera in 2003. I could have had 256 gb for the same price if only I had been patient!

I have one of these installed on a Sony NWA-55. It is working perfectly with about 600 Gb of music on it. They were on sale for £89 on Black Friday if I remember well.
