2017 Audio Technica new flagship ATH-ADX5000
Nah mate we get a great deal here in Aus, essentially paying €1350 or $1450 USD when most stores have them new for $2000 USD + tax so probably more like $2150- lacedup

Oh I should mention the headaches are from the headband, not the 9200 itself. I tried an aftermarket cover but no dice.- lacedup

Currently on the lookout for a second pair of headphones, the 9200s are great but can't wear them for extended periods or I get headaches. Where I am there's a decent deal on a TH900 PW and a Focal Radiance, or are they a bit too similar to the 9200? Could also get the Clear MG but I sold my OG...- lacedup

Rebought these after selling them back in March. Had serial number in the low 3000s bought in March 2021 and now have number 12350, interesting to see just to see how many there potentially are now. Would've been cool to get 12345, so close! Glad to have them back on my head regardless- lacedup

How do the pads come off? Are they easy to get back on/no adhesive required? My dog sheds really short hairs and there is a bunch right underneath the pads inside the cup, tried my best with tweezers but there's still a bunch- lacedup

I know they aren't the same but I had Clears for over a year then ordered the 9200s without ever hearing them. I had intended to keep both but after going back and forth I sold the Clear the next day and zero regrets.- lacedup

Never heard Radiance but I sold my Clears for 9200s and zero regrets. Some say they are the best closed back around even beating the Stella/VC, especially for the price. I'd definitely look into them, they're an amazingly balanced headphone with extremely good bass when a song calls for it- lacedup

Denons by far! Had mine a week and already sold my Clears! Denons are better in every way imo and you lose that fatiguing metallic timbre- lacedup

Denon AH-7200
Someone posted side by side photos of them long ago and the 7200 is much flatter in the headband, which probably explains the comfort issues- lacedup

Finally got a pair for myself and am in love. Much more enjoyable listening experience compared to my Clears and oh my god the bass is so good! Also the build is immaculate, pictures definitely make it look flimsy. Already considering selling my Clear for an amp upgrade - lacedup

I'd take a peek into the Penrose thread, seems to be a few unresolved issues still that are probably worth waiting a few more months- lacedup

Topping L30 - The new budget benchmark?
Yeah the Schiit tax is insane I was looking at Lyr3 but ugh, I currently have an Atom amp/Topping D30 DAC but possibly may upgrade since I have some pretty high end headphones now.. (Focal Clear and Denon AH-D9200)- lacedup

Focal Clear MG Pro
If you love your Elex I'd honestly save some money and grab OG Clear, it's an upgrade to the Elex but not completely different sounding like the Mg plus you can get them $4-500 cheaper than Mg- lacedup

Focal Clear headphones
That was me last year.. Here in Aus the Utopia and Stellia were $3000 AUD (insane price for brand new) and Clear $1200. I went for the Clear even though I reallyyy wanted more. The Utopia is going for the same price now but IMO am happy with Clear, looking at a TOTL closed back now too.- lacedup

Am back again, found a deal on eBay for brand new 9200s for $1400 in my country. Seeing as I can't get these in stores without paying double that just for a warranty, would it be wise to purchase these or wait months and pay $1000+ more for a warranty on them?- lacedup
