if you only had one headphone to live with the rest of your life, which would it be? from what you currently have
Although I have had him since August and it can be considered "the honeymoon period", for the moment the LCD 5 remain on the podium. They are expensive, but with a bit of EQ they beat all my headphones in all sections.- SilverAlc

Hifiman Arya Organic v. Hifiman HE1000 (Stealth) v. Audeze LCD-X
Just for the genres you say I would go for an LCD X. The bass is very nice, the treble is restrained (I think for the genres you listen to that matters). The only drawback is the weight (600 grams) but the construction and materials and cable are much better than Hifiman. Hifiman are great for...- SilverAlc

Looking for a New GAMING Headset!
As mentioned in the previous post: HyperX Cloud Orbit S. I had it, I can tell you that for gaming it was pretty good, it loses the wireless option to lower the price. The microphone is acceptable and being planar for gaming, the bass and bass information, scene and bass capacity (quality rather...- SilverAlc

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?
Gustard R26>Ferrum stack> LCD 5 > Aerosmith Have you ever listened to a song three or more times in a row in one session? Dream on, my favorite, always brings back memories of my childhood, with my brother's old sony radio cassette player back in the 90's... lots of memories. followed by: The...- SilverAlc

If you have listened to a lot of headphones, which would you rate as S-tier?
There are so many variables and compromises in both the headphone, type of music, dac and headphone amplifier, subjective and the person themselves (glasses? your ears and your head) that it is very difficult to pinpoint one headphone as perfect. That's why I gave up on the idea of the perfect...- SilverAlc

Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview
I just received an LCD 5 today. After deciding to jump into buying an LCD-5 in showroom condition (which has come in perfect condition and they are from 2022) I am currently enjoying it very much with all the playlists I normally listen to. My favourite genres are rock, metal and jazz. I come...- SilverAlc

MOONDROP Seventh Anniversary Edition, Beautiful World
Maybe a comparison against their iem Illumination gives some sense of what to expect from the headset itself. What genres does Moondrop recommend them for? It looks great in presentation and aesthetics, except for the Waifu. I don't really like a serious, deluxe presentation with a cartoon. I...- SilverAlc

Focal Clear Mg Review & Measurements
I've had them for a while and I can't say anything wrong with them except the price (well, in general that's what you have to do when you want something high end). Soundstage correct without being closed, dynamics are great, treble is correct and detail. I like the mids, I don't notice the...- SilverAlc

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)
I was lucky enough a while ago to get a Sony Wm1a, change the region and put the Mr Walkman mod on it, add a planar, bone conduction and a dd (Imr Edp Ace) and magic! At home and on the commute to work, a joy.- SilverAlc

Ferrum OOR - headphone amplifier with a soul ?
Hi mates, despite not reading the thread completely, I wanted to ask you directly, how much % does the amp lose without the dedicated Hypsos ? Has anyone tested the LCDX and Focal Clear MG headphones with this amplifier to say how is the synergy with both? I imagine it will be a nice improvement...- SilverAlc

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
Wow with the mrwalkman mods and the WM1a. The WM1Z external tunning gave me the feeling of a pretty good improvement in soundstage and treble. But I was missing that low and meaty stock sound, and so far I'm in warm mode and loving it. I'll keep playing around but if I already liked the stock...- SilverAlc

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution
It's a pity that IMR makes short series of iems but for Metal I have found the IMR ACE to be great. Planar, DD and bone conduction. It has a very good soundstage for an in ear, good tonality, separation and good bass.- SilverAlc
