About technicalities... yes, all mediocre. At least find one that isnt too sibilant

Talking about sound on the go... I gave up struggling with dongles because I like EQ and the way it works right now - through software - is only okay for lower bitrate music. Then I got truly interested about Moondrop DSP, but lost it fast. It seems they are still baby steps to implement PEQ...

That driver is promising so much. I'm looking forward for Moondrop May impressions too. Lately, only thing Im interested is when there is something actually innovating.

My 2 cents in that topic is look for 2-3 DD too. Knowing the tuning you are looking for. A tweeter driver bring more sparkle and technicalities while not going to metallic timbre territory (an exception would be Star River, lets ignore that zing monster). Weirdly, my current favorite 2DDs are...

Funny that Serial is still the most recognizing name for 3dd. Even though its charging a $100 for each driver of the cheapest technology

Finally a decent space themed name. Just wishing it should be named after one of the multi DDs 🤧

    Sheesh. They need better translators

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

Concluding: budget BAs are still too metallic The multi DDs releases are 👌though. Castor bass ver. is exactly what I think would be Kbear Rosefinch perfected (and cheaper)

I mean... cool? Their last hybrid was a 1+1 for the same MSRP. A year ago I think

What interested me most is if they really managed to get no background noise

    The discovery thread!

It seems they avoided BA timbre the best they could, but this moment I think of skipping it to favor multi DDs. Its a category of IEMs that is growing because, supposedly, is the best timbre and financial option. It achieves more note edge definition without risking sounding metallic/plasticky...

Pretty sad indeed. Idk, but things here felt genuine towards good purchases but its more and more feeling sponsored, non organic content. Maybe thats just me. Still, good to know what is new, especially liking Chi-fi

    The discovery thread!

Yeah, Im trying to ignore the influencer aspect because the tuning fits my preference. I think DZ4 and Zero:RED lacks bass quantity for the musicality I aim in IEMs. Another aspect is that drivers are promised to be high quality. It seems to be a solid purchase. But I dont want to risk more...

Anyone hyping Kailua? It completely killed my desire of getting Kara

Beryllium is... Too snappy for me. Same happens with LCP. Bass is resolute but feels boring clinical. For those IEMs, any slow roll off filter is pure bliss. For someone which the preference is a warmer/musical sound

They added a driver AND reduced selling price. It just shows how affected they are after more brands started to compete in budget

    BitPerfect I guess

    The discovery thread!

Yeah, good tuning is expected from the brand. That driver configuration is pretty challenging for coherence and timbre, though. Curious how its going to be overall

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

Too limited for top picks. Lacking all top performers for price. EPZ, Akliam, iBasso, Shio...

Its totally personal. I dont tolerate BA metallicness, for example. Id go for the one focusing the most on sounding natural, which seems to be Kara

Tanchjim never misses. I would never imagine their new line flagship would be a 5 driver for less than $200 While Dunu is still thinking we are in 2021....
