I feel like Audeze purposely released the CRBN prematurely to try and build hype/sales before the announcement of the x9000.

They definitely look more comfortable. I personally found that the pressure at the front of the stock pads lessened over time to the point where it is no longer an issue. Now it's only really the headband that irritates me after long listening sessions

Yeah, I have noticed the same thing in the classifieds. I am certainly one of those people who were not really interested in the e-stat area until the CRBN. Now I'm checking this thread every day for the first few people to give their impressions....:darthsmile:

FiiO Q5s sounds like a good option. Ticks virtually every box apart from being on the more expensive side and works well with my IER-Z1Rs

Also, would owners recommend using the VC portably, or do you find it too heavy? If you do what portable amp/dac do you use with it?

Is it worth getting the mkII over the mini? Apart from the obvious difference in outputs, are there any discernable differences in sound?

They are super heavy. My neck is buff after using them daily for over 2 years.

Sounds like a great little setup. The LCD-2Cs definitely don't require as much power as other planars out there so low gain is great for them (esp for the crazy power an Asgard 3 can put out for its price)
