Cayin HA-3A, a Compact 6V6s Transformer-coupled Tube Amplifier
It's a sky effect. Light from the rooftop window reflects like little stars on the dust haha⭐ Lovely, I have many versions of Sylvania 6v6 but never saw this glow. I have blue glow like that with my military GE 6v6gt or RFT 6v6gt.- Renexx

Cayin HA-3A, a Compact 6V6s Transformer-coupled Tube Amplifier
I think I didn't share a nice tube roll for longer time. I found some really nice and rare American or Japanese variants of 12au7 tubes. Right now I have problems with the treble peak of the Fostex TH900. Some rolls really bring it forward and some cover it completely. This would be a nice...- Renexx

Did somebody use Ecc33 tubes in the Euphoria? Do they have the same Pinout like ecc32 and can be used without an adapter ?- Renexx

Why you guys like GE tubes so much ? This 1955 6SN7GTB is pretty okay, better than new production for sure. I didn't like the later versions. Better is the Canadian GE 6SN7GT industrial yellow base with 1950s Sylvania badboy construction: very warm and not the most resolving but sounds great...- Renexx

That's only the advertising on the tube. I judge them by their inner construction. It's a Tungsol 6as7g. Very nice sounding tube but overpriced.- Renexx

Tungsol and Sylvania 7236 are "faster" power tubes. Good resolution with punchy lowend. I have a pair for sale in classifieds. Shoot me a pm if you are interested.- Renexx

I really had to search for those Los Gatos boxes in the picture haha. Those are Sylvania 6sn7w and vt-231 relabeled in the 70s. Bingo! Pope was a Mullard/Philips brand. I have a clear and older grey glass pair of those Philips 6sn7gt. Absolutely rare I hope 😁 Yea, I wonder why those are so...- Renexx

Military Mullard 6080. Very warm, rounded on both ends, wooly bass. British warmth with lots of tube magic.- Renexx

It took me long to find a pristine pair for a fair price. Coincidence gave me a cherry picked AQ2408. I hope those are rare. So this would be the reason why I don't have more GECs. Starting to organize my collection right now. Before it was quite hard to find a certain tube.- Renexx

Cayin HA-3A, a Compact 6V6s Transformer-coupled Tube Amplifier
Definitely. It's in the same league like a Feliks Euphoria AE. Tubes are plenty full available and relatively affordable. a cool sounding combination: RCA 12au7 1950s long black plates, Cossor 6V6G and Sicte 22DE4 Except the RCA, both tubes are quite bright sounding tubes. Great synergy of...- Renexx

You don't need matched pairs. The amp has an auto bias and will balance the amplification of each tube individually. You can't notice if you have a 100% tube and an almost dying tube together. You only notice that the dying tube become noisy or microphonic. Enjoy your tubes.- Renexx

That's an interesting comparison. Please let us know in detail. The Euphoria really shines with NOS tubes. I'm especially interested how different tubes can scale the amp.- Renexx

Sure if you enjoy the sound. The Cayin HA-3A doesn't show the quality difference between NOS and new production so clearly like an OTL amp.- Renexx

Thanks, I would say the early version doesn't sound different than my later Tungsol 2399 top getter. 2399 is only an inventory number for 5998 tubes but still lovely to find such a pair in original boxes. Both pairs make a collector happy.- Renexx

Nice military Mullard 6080s. I finally got my hands on a rare 40s or 50s Tungsol 5998 pair. Rectangular bottom getter and matte grey domino plates. The top mica construction looks like a WE421A.- Renexx

Early pairs always have top mica cutouts like shown in th picture. They were produced in 1943 to first weeks in 1944. Shown in the picture is the mid 1943 version with old vt-231 print and foil getter. They don't really sound different than the later version. I think start February 1944 the...- Renexx

Yes back to real tubes.... Recently I got so many different types of RCA GTB and even a GTA. Sadly this late 1960 version with the heater wire is still missing. Next week I will get a Canadian 6SN7GTB 1967 tall bottle pair with RCA tooling as well. Same Era but no heater wire on top. RCA...- Renexx

I wouldn't be so sure if they are Mazda or British Tungsram. British Tungsram also sold under the Mazda brand and the print looks suspiciously like Tungsram 6V6G. If they are British you will get a warm sound signature similar to Brimars. I need to check the construction at home. The picture on...- Renexx

That's a lovely advertised packaging. As stated in the shop description these are rebranded Sylvania 6V6GTY made in the late 1950s. GTY means they have a brown micanol low loss base. They are the predecessor of GTA version and might be the same. I have this 1970s pair incoming. Useally the GTA...- Renexx
