Aful Performer Impressions Thread
I use them for all kinds of stuff, gaming, movies and music. For music I switch between them and the 7Hz Timeless AE from time to time. I like the neutral balanced sound, you can use them for everything. I won't upgrade to the P8 myself, because why should I? The mid-bass and upper-mids are more...- LaVey1999

Upcoming Ultrasone edition 11 and pro 1480i
@briedfox @TWerk I mean, they‘re like: If you can buy heaphones for 1,000$ or even for 3,000$ or more, then you should‘nt have a problem with 200$-400$ earpads. That‘s what I think. Is it ok? Definitely not. @briedfox How long do you have them? The pads on mine are fine and I have them for 3...- LaVey1999

@NexusOne The Timeless AE are dark, yes. They are fun and engaging, perfect for Metal and Rock. I use them on the FiiO Q1 Mark II balanced for example, no problems at all. I can‘t speak about the other mentioned iem‘s, but the Timeless AE should be good, if you don‘t hear classical. They lack a...- LaVey1999

Focal Celestee (New Closed-Back Headphone)
I think so too that they went under the radar. I have them for 2 years now. I don‘t use them that often currently, I use more and more IEM‘s atm, but they‘re still great. When I hear with them it‘s a great experience. At the beginning I heard like 1-2 hours, 3-4 days a week, now it‘s like 2...- LaVey1999

Focal Celestee (New Closed-Back Headphone)
Maybe, but I think the Celestee went under the radar. Not enough sales is my guess. Here in germany you can still buy the Elegia new for 500€, despite the discontinuation like 2 years ago.- LaVey1999

@Jakkal @jasonb I have the P5 and the Timeless AE and the Bass is thicker and fuller on the AE, almost spectacular. The P5, atleast to me, is better separated and clean so the bass comes across "lighter“, despite the graph. On paper they‘re are similar, but in my case there is a difference in...- LaVey1999

7Hz Impressions & Discussion
You all should look on my postings on here. Did I every wrote, the Timeless AE are bad? I say that since I'm on this thread that they're great, just to dark for my preference. Later I appreciated them even more for what they are. Now that I've tried the Performer5 I still say the AE is great and...- LaVey1999

I just don‘t like a too dark tuning. The AE has a great soundquality for this price, they‘re far from bad. It‘s just not perfect for me. The thing with better sources could be true, but I use all my stuff on the same amps/dacs and the Timeless AE is definately darker as the Performer5. If you...- LaVey1999

Now that I've listened to the Aful Performer5 for a bit, I have posted my impressions on the Aful Thread. I'm not sure if I should just post the exact same thing on here as on the Aful Thread or not, it's mostly over the Performer5. I think it's unnecessary. Here's the little comparison with The...- LaVey1999

After enough time with the P5, I can now share my impressions with you. A quick overview of the upcoming themes – Price – Build/Comfort – Sound – Comparison with the 7Hz Timeless AE PRICE: … I paid 219 for the Performer5 here in germany, which is the the same as the MSRP in the US for example...- LaVey1999

I've seen now that the thread name is not correct, they're not the Aful ''Performance'' 5. If you created this thread, maybe you can change that, so that more people could find this thread. I don't want to be rude or something, I'm grateful that this thread even exist.- LaVey1999

I got the P5 in the mail, but not tried them yet. I've bought it in hope that the P5 is a mix between the 7Hz Timeless AE and Moondrop Aria Snow, less bass than the AE and not as clinical/boring as the Aria Snow. I've seen many reviews with extrem different opinions. From neutral treble to dark...- LaVey1999

Pop music is amazing on the AE's. On my FiiO Q1 Mark II they sound engaging and powerful with Artists like Muse, Depeche Mode or even Modern Talking 😅. The sound is so full-bodied and rich, it's amazing for an iem. The Aria Snow are definitely neutral therefore they bring out slightly more...- LaVey1999

Does someone on here have the iFi Zen DAC+Zen Can (V1) and the K7? Are they similar soundwise? I would like to know if the K7 is on the same level as the iFi stack and if the K7 is warm-sounding too.- LaVey1999

It‘s in my signature (iFi Zen DAC + Zen Can or FiiO Q1 Mark II) I‘m aware that these are not the cleanest or most analytical sources, but that‘s all I have. I use my other stuff on that too. The Bass is detailed and punchy so it‘s not boomy or bloated, but just 0,5 or 1 db too much for my...- LaVey1999

Like I wrote, the bass is amazing, just sometimes to much for my taste. I have fun with the AE's. With slight eq the treble is even better. When you want a high quality fun sound, this can be the one.- LaVey1999

When the bass from the Hook-X is to much for you then you should not think of the Timeless AE imo. The Timeless AE's soundquality is amazing and they‘re fun and engaging, but the bass, which has punch and detail and is overall amazing for an iem, is, atleast for me, to much on some songs or...- LaVey1999

Just hear the best-of album. It‘s a good start :) The Timeless AE is good for black/death metal. The vocals are very full and thick. Deep voices are awesome to listen at. I can now finally understand Cannibal Corpse after all this years. 😂- LaVey1999

You all should try the Timeless AE with Depeche Mode, it's an amazing experience! After more hours, they slightly opened up a bit on the treble, which is not by much but still noticeable. I‘ve tried it. To be honest, it‘s not that of a difference compared to the stock tips (I use wider bore ones). I first use the stock tips for a few songs that I know good ('Down with the Sickness' for example) and then switched over to the spring tips. It might be minimal less bass punch but...- LaVey1999
