The Stax Thread III
Hello Guys, Need some help. Whenever I push my Stax L300 to high volumes/certain frequencies, there is a very audible (and annoying) crackling sound (for example during certain bass hits). I've had my headphones replaced by Apos, and the issue persists, so I must assume that this has to do with...- RKarim

High Pitched Noise
Hello, I've been experiencing some high pitched noise out of my Topping E30. This only occurs when I'm playing through non-exclusive driver methods, (eg. ASIO and WASAPI Exclusive are fine, WASAPI has this problem). Does anybody know what might be causing this? Thanks, ~RKarim- RKarim

How did you get your E30 to accept a 705.6kHz signal? The AKM chip only supports natively 384kHz.- RKarim

Anybody know what the effect (if any) burn-in has on Stax? Usually, I don't believe in burn-in, but Stax are complex and I don't understand them.- RKarim

DAC under $300
Definitely looking at some other purchases, but out of curiosity, why the Fidelio specifically? Probably going to end up with a phono as I've got a bunch of LPs (almost 100) that I can't listen to (they were my parents, actually in pretty great condition. Definitely a nice find).- RKarim

DAC under $300
You know, that's pretty much what I thought. Just wanted to be sure that the general consensus agreed with me, and that I wasn't missing out. Thanks, ~RKarim- RKarim

DAC under $300
I see- I was just looking for a bit of an upgrade as I got my Stax stuff, however I am very happy with it. Balanced isn't really nessecary for me (the SMSL converts all balanced connections into SE anyways, and the Stax energizer doesn't support balanced inputs). Would you suggest just...- RKarim

DAC under $300
Hello, I am currently looking for a DAC to replace my Topping E30, under $300. I want to use this with a pair of Stax L700's and my HD650's. I use an SRM-323S + an SMSL SP200. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, ~RKarim- RKarim

I know about the transformer. It would just be a nicer setup to be able to run it without.- RKarim

Hello, I'm purchasing a Stax 323S and I've been looking into setting the voltage to 120V (the current voltage seems to be 100V). Is this possible? I've seen mixed answers online. Thanks, ~RKarim- RKarim

$1200 - Headphones
Hello, I currently own the HD 650's from Sennheiser, and I'm looking for an upgrade somewhere within the low $1000's (1200-1300 preferably, however adaptable). As far as sound is concerned, I'm looking for something quite detailed however not overly bright. I like the sound of my current...- RKarim
