I would think FiiO FD3 as Moondrop Aria level, not Kato :) I'm listening to Kato right now, loves it much more than the Aria, which I enjoy more than FD5 ;)- redguardsoldier

Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread
Here you are: https://banbeu.com/graph/tool/?share=Banbeucmas_Target,Sony_XBA-N3AP,Sony_XBA-N1AP Blue N3, Green N1 I haven't heard the N1, while owning & enjoying the N3 myself. Looking at the graph, I would guess that N1 is more bloated.- redguardsoldier

You can consider KZ AZ09 Pro :) The biggest con is that it only comes in KZ's style 2-pin so some modding would be necessary.- redguardsoldier

How would you compare between KZ AZ09 Pro & FiiO UTWS5 :) ? I'm rocking KZ AZ09 Pro with Arias now. I do wish for a bit more "dynamic" & "bass impact" from time to time ...- redguardsoldier

The discovery thread!
Avoid fast charging --> SURE! Charge and top up whenever possible --> Ew, please don't do that, the batteries don't like being 100% full all the time (that's why Sony's DAPs have the option to never charge above 90%) Or wait till it fully depletes --> EWWW, even worse than keeping them topped up...- redguardsoldier

The discovery thread!
Not to defend Hiby, or any brand, yet this is actually a common problem with LiPo batteries, and can happen with just ANY brand :) It's just that, well, better brands tend to source better batteries, which will have less chance of doing this :) From my own experience, I got swollen batteries...- redguardsoldier

The question between Aria vs HE01 is about what bass you prefer :) To me, HE01 has more mid bass. While Aria has more sub bass, & the quality of bass as a whole is better.- redguardsoldier

My wife gave me a pair of Lark last birthday :). They're indeed beautiful & with good sound! Still, what prevents me from enjoying them more is the big nozzle, which makes it impossible to push them deeper into my ears for more secure fit :(- redguardsoldier

Agree on this, even the very-good-on-it-own Whizzer HE01 has a hard time competing with the like of Moondrop Aria :). Not to mention iBasso IT00, which I haven't heard myself. The price range is just too competitive.- redguardsoldier

1 vote for HE01, such quantity :). Btw, I have DQ6 as well, annoying peaks kill enjoyment :(. Although, if I have to choose, I would always choose Aria over HE01. Less quantity, but more quality bass :).- redguardsoldier

I'm on latest Walkman One, Neutral tuning with my A55 now :). It's a pity that you have to change the setting flag AND flash the tuning package to change between them. But at least we have the choice now :). As usual, @MrWalkman outdid himself again :).- redguardsoldier

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
Not necessarily that you did it wrong. Some people just remove it altogether, running only on the cloth filter :). For me, I simply miss that "punch" too much that I reinstalled it. Although clearing the adhesive does help to clear things up a bit :).- redguardsoldier

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
It's more like the mod brings down the quantity of the bass while increasing the quality :). That's why you hear "loosing the punch" as the bass is reduced in level & rumble. The "quality" increase is the increase in bass resolution aka making bass faster. It also affects why you feel mid lose...- redguardsoldier
